I posted on Instagram a few days ago that if you can get a chuck roast for less than $2.99/lb that is pretty good deal! I had several people ask what to use the chuck roast for…well I have 20 different recipes here that all use chuck roast. Chuck roast is a perfect fit for the slow cooker because it has a lot of collagen that will turn into gelatin after many hours of low and slow cooking. That means it will become fork tender. But remember to leave plenty of time for the chuck roast to cook…it will take about 8-12 hours on low to get fork tender.
Slow Cooker Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches–tender shredded beef and green peppers are cooked in your slow cooker. The beef is piled onto toasted buns that are slathered with mustard and mayo and then topped with melty cheese.
Slow Cooker Mississippi Roast Gyros–tender shredded beef that has been cooked in pepperoncini juice is piled into a soft pita and then topped with monterey jack cheese and a dollop of sour cream.
Slow Cooker Mississippi Roast (no packets)–with just a handful of ingredients and your trusty crockpot you can make the best roast of your life. This particular recipe has no packets of ranch or au jus like the original recipe calls for. The meat is slightly spicy and infused with flavor. This roast is perfect served with mashed potatoes or on a crusty roll as a sandwich.
Slow Cooker Korean Beef Tacos—tender shredded seasoned beef is rolled up in a warm tortilla with crunchy cabbage, diced avocado, chopped cilantro, sriracha sour cream and a splash of roasted garlic seasoned rice vinegar. When you bite into this taco it’s like a party in your mouth. All the flavors and textures come together in a perfect union.
Slow Cooker Beef and Broccoli–tender pieces of beef are served alongside broccoli and a savory and slightly sweet Asian sauce for a homemade version of your favorite Chinese takeout dish.
Slow Cooker French Onion French Dip Sandwiches–The French dip sandwich is a hot beef sandwich consisting of tender thin slices of beef layered a long white French roll that is dipped into a flavorful sauce made from the pan juices. It is a staple at any diner in America. My recipe is a mash-up between French Onion Soup and the French Dip Sandwich. Soft onions are piled along with the beef and cheese on a crusty roll.
Slow Cooker Beef and Cheddar Sandwiches–the easiest recipe to make ever. With only 4 ingredients total (beef, onion soup mix, cheddar and sandwich buns) you may be thinking that this recipe is just too easy to taste good. Well, you’re wrong 🙂 The flavor is amazing and your family will be asking for seconds.
Slow Cooker French Dip Tacos–tender, moist shredded roast beef rolled up in a soft flour tortilla and topped with melty mozzarella cheese. Dip it in au jus sauce for best results!
Slow Cooker Beef Gyros Recipe: Tender pieces of beef with soft onions, juicy tomatoes, crisp lettuce, creamy cucumber yogurt sauce all wrapped up in soft, melt in your mouth pita bread. And the best part of slow cooker beef gyros is that the beef is made in the slow cooker freeing up your time and making your kitchen smell good all day long.
Slow Cooker Peppery Beef Noodles: Peppery beef is slow cooked and then tossed with thin spaghetti noodles and a head of shredded cabbage. Sriracha is drizzled on for some extra heat.
15 Bean Chili with Beef–Tender beef chunks and 15 different types of (dried) beans make up the foundation of this mouth-watering chili. The cajun sour cream that tops the chili is an integral part of the dish–be sure to give it a try!
3 Envelope Crockpot Roast–You may have heard of 3-envelope roast before (or maybe not). It’s simply cooking roast with a packet of ranch, a packet of gravy and a packet of Italian dressing mix. The roast gets super flavorful and the recipe really couldn’t be much easier. I decided to take this well-known and loved recipe and make my own “envelopes” of ranch mix, gravy mix and Italian dressing mix.
