#10: Instant Pot Whole Frozen Chicken

If you love getting those whole rotisserie chickens at your grocery store, youโ€™ll love this recipe for pressure cooker whole seasoned chicken. The chicken is cooked in minutes in your Instant Pot (my chicken was actually totally frozen) and then stuck under the broiler to crisp up the skin. Slice the chicken up to eat plain or use it in any recipes that call for cooked chicken.

Karen, I’m making your garlic pork tenderloin and mashed potatoes Tonite for company. I bought two 1.50 oz tenderloins. It’s says the cooking time is 5 minutes. With two do I add more cooking time. It will be 3oz instead of 2oz. Thanks

I would keep the same cooking time because the thickness of the meat is the same. If it was 1 huge thick tenderloin then I would increase time.

Can you help? I have sent a message to Insta Pot but no response. My intsa pot whistles the whole time it’s under pressure. If I move the vent a tiny bit it will stop for a second or 2 and then resume. That high pitched noise is so annoying and I don’t know if the pressure i right since it obviously is releasing steam while cooking. I have followed your directions for taking it apart, cleaning and reassembling but that didn’t help. My pot is fairly new and I was still learning ow to use it. I love your recipes because they are very clear and perfect for a newby like me. Now i’m not using it at all because no one in the house can’t stand the noise

Make sure when you are releasing the pressure. Especially when cooking soups that you haven’t overfilled the pot and cause liquid to Exit out the vent. . Clean it real well if you can and try to use natural release for the first 10 to 12 minutes before you do a manual release when you’re on the pressure cooking setting. Covering a vent with the towel if you overfill the pot will help it from making a mess.

You should also inspect the silicon gasket and replace if it is a year old. Mine whistled too and changing the gasket made it come to pressure fastyer and the whistling stoped. YMMV

That sounds like it’s not coming to pressure. The minute it comes to pressure and starts “counting down” it doesn’t make any noise at all. What model do you have?

Judie, how long ago did you contact Instant Pot? I’ve emailed them several times with questions. They’ve always responded though the response doesn’t always come quickly.
