Instant Pot Mississippi Sin Dip—An addictive warm dip that is perfect for any party, potluck or get together. Or if you want to eat it in the closet by yourself. No judgment.
Note: SLOW COOKER and OVEN instructions are listed in the recipe.

Each week in 2020 I’m sharing a recipe inspired by one of the 50 states. (See all the state recipes I’ve covered so far.) Today’s recipe is inspired by The Magnolia State or the The Hospitality State, Mississippi. The state of Mississippi was named after the Mississippi River. The state is known for its part it played in the Civil War, its magnolias, catfish, and southern charm. Mississippi has more churches per capita than any other state in the country. And let’s not forget that in order to count seconds we all say “one Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Mississippi…”
Instant Pot Mississippi Sin Dip
Today’s recipe is called Mississippi Sin Dip and once you try it you will know why. Or maybe you’ll want to rename it Mississippi Heaven. This cheese and ham dip is gooey and warm is completely addicting. And when I write in the recipe card that it will serve 8 I don’t actually mean that. I mean that it *could* serve 8. But mostly likely will serve about 4 (or, ahem, 1).
I feel like the timing of this recipe is perfect! With Thanksgiving coming up and the holidays and family get togethers I really think you should make this and take it and become the most popular person in your family. This dip is good for bribery as well.

This dip is super fun because it’s traditionally served inside of loaf of bread. Of course you don’t have to serve it that way. You can serve it straight out of a crockpot or Instant Pot. But if you’re trying to make it look all fancy then try the bread. I used a a serrated knife to cut out the center of the bread and then I used the bread innards to dip with. Then I went into a food coma and passed out for an hour…worth it!
Equipment I used to make Instant Pot Mississippi Sin Dip
6 quart Instant Pot Duo 60 7 in 1*.

Notes
If you’d like to double this recipe you can use an entire loaf of French bread to hollow out instead of the bread bowl.
Try toasting the bread innards and use them to dip with. So tasty!

Making this for a super bowl….you don’t need to cover the pot-in-a-pot? Since the directions don’t say to, I won’t….just curious. Sounds delicious…we’ll love it, I’m sure! Love your recipes.
I did not cover! Hope you like it Vicki!
Has anyone tried making this the day before, and heating it up in the microwave just before serving? Just trying to save time, the day of event.
How much does this make, it is just 2 of us.
Can it be halfed and can I use a mini pressure cooker ?
It makes 8 servings so halving it would be a good idea. And yes use the mini pressure cooker and should be great!
Could you make this without the ham? It sure looks delicious! Thanks!
Sure but I would put some other cured meat in its place since that is where a lot of the flavor comes from
Looking forward to making Karen but my oven will be occupied with my bird and stuffing. Can this be made but wo the 10 minutes in the oven? Anyone who has made this, let me know your thoughts, plz!!!!!
Thanks
Yes it can! It’s not necessary in the oven.
Ana Delatorre…… what kind of a crack was that???? Just because her real name is Karen, doesn’t mean she IS a KAREN!!! If you don’t know what you’re talking about, don’t talk!!!

Couldn’t wait any longer to make this, Thanksgiving was too far away. Fantastic!!! My wife and I ate the whole thing ourselves except for some of the bread bowl (I still saved it though). Best dip ever, except for the MD crab dip.
Yes!! So glad you liked it Nick!
Karen, you continue on your course of excellence. Mississippi Sin Dip is true to the name. All you need to do is follow your instructions with the recipe and the rest is magic. Best dip I have every had and I have had many. You deserve 5 plus stars!!!!

Thank you so much Art! I am so happy to hear you enjoyed it 😊
This looks great! Definitely making this dip for Thanksgiving. Thank you!
You are welcome! Enjoy!
This looks delicious. Definitely going to fix this for my family sometime during the holidays. I will probably double the recipe and put in the french bread and toast the bread that I pull out and put on the side of the dish. I may even have to do a trial run beforehand. LOL….
I think you will really love it!
Yum! I’m going to eat the whole thing myself. No one is allowed to share with me.
Haha love it!
I think your recipes are great.
stop hating people
In future recipes, how about not promoting ones that are dipped? During this pandemic, we should not be dipping into common vessels and passing germs around!
Mary, Are you kidding me right now??? You’re lucky Karen is sharing anything with you!! So…are you not feeding your family during the pandemic??? You need to lighten up, girl! Oh, and have some of this delicious dip!

Wow your comment comes off really rude. How about if people don’t double dip? That’s the only way you introduce germs. Or…spoon the dip onto a plate for individual use? During this upcoming holiday season in the midst of a pandemic, getting together with people not in your immediate family is probably not a good idea anyway, because I seriously doubt those people will be wearing masks and maintaining a 6 foot distance. BUT this really isn’t the place to debate pandemic etiquette. So how about saying that this dip looks both amazing and delicious (because it does) and will definitely try this at home (because I will!). Thanks Karen! 🙂
Good grief!!!
Don’t double dip. Give us a break!!!!
