Beef ramen bowls might look plain but there is tons of flavor in this easy-to-make Instant Pot dish.

Skeptical Husband Dinner
Greg was skeptical that this combination of flavors and ingredients would be good together but his exact words were “this is the best ramen I’ve ever had.” #nailedit
This recipe takes a cheap package of ramen noodles and makes them into something amazing. Throw away the seasoning packet that comes with the noodles and create your own delicious broth with a few ingredients you have at home. The addition of ground beef adds some protein and makes it more of a full meal. Top the noodle bowl with some sriracha for a bit of heat and some green onions for flavor and color. Try this easy dinner out soon! I think you’ll enjoy it!
Ingredients/Substitution Ideas
- Lean ground beef–or ground turkey
- Garlic cloves
- Ginger–I freeze mine, wrap it in foil and then use a small grater* to grate some of it when I need it for a recipe.
- Kosher salt
- Beef broth
- Low sodium soy sauce–or tamari
- Rice vinegar
- Lime juice
- Black pepper
- Ramen noodles–seasoning packets discarded
- Green onions–or scallions
- Sriracha sauce–optional for topping
Steps
Turn Instant Pot to saute setting. When display says HOT add in the ground beef and break it up. Brown for 5 minutes. Drain off excess grease. Stir in the garlic, ginger and salt.
Pour in the broth and scrape bottom of pot so that nothing is sticking. Turn off Instant Pot.

Add in the soy sauce, rice vinegar, lime juice, pepper and ramen noodles.

Cover Instant Pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set the manual/pressure cook button to 0 (zero) minutes.

When the time is up move valve to venting and remove the lid. Stir well.

Scoop into bowls and top with green onions.

Notes/Tips
- This is fun dish to top with an over-easy egg.
- I used my 3 quart Instant Pot*. You can also make this in a 6 or 8 quart pot.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container* in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- If you don’t understand what a zero minute pressure cooking time is then you can read my article all about it.

I would like to double this recipe. Does the amount of water or cook time change?
I would double all the ingredients including the water and keep the same cooking time.
Could I make the Ramen recipe in my slow cooker
If I make this with regular spaghetti, what changes would I do to the recipe? Cook pasta separately, and add it just at the end?
Personally, I can’t imagine you’d have any semblance of ramen noodles left after a slow cook time. They’d pretty much disintegrate.
Hi Berma, personally I wouldn’t do that. Instead I would just make this all on the stove. Brown the beef and add in the ingredients. Let the liquid come to a boil and add in the ramen until cooked through. Serve and enjoy!
Hi Karen,
Is it possible to substitute the ground meat with eggs (out of meat)? If so, how would you go about it?
Best to your daughter in college and YOU (been there with twins… not easy for mom’s heart).
Thank you!
You could just boil the ramen and then stir in the soy sauce, vinegar, lime juice, pepper, garlic and ginger. Fry up the eggs separately and serve over the top.
