Instant Pot Lasagna Ravioli
This is such a delicious recipe not to mention how easy it is to make. It only has a handful of ingredients. The hardest part is browning the ground beef.
I like to buy the frozen cheese raviolis for this recipe. I usually find a bag of ravioli by the frozen bread section at Winco, Walmart or Smiths.
If you don’t want to use ground beef you can use ground turkey, ground chicken or ground pork. If you want more flavor you can use ground Italian sausage.
I used a jar of whatever spaghetti sauce was on sale but you can use your favorite spaghetti sauce flavor. It is really a saucy recipe so if you want more of an even sauce to pasta ratio then only use a ½ jar of sauce as opposed to the whole jar.
My daughter’s friend was over when I made this Instant Pot lasagna ravioli and her mom called a while later to get the recipe because her daughter loved it so much. I know you’ll love it too! Add the ingredients to your shopping list and try it out.

What Pressure Cooker Did You Use?
To make Instant Pot Lasagna Ravioli I used my 6 quart Instant Pot Duo 60 7 in 1*. I love this Instant Pot because it has the yogurt making function which I use almost weekly. It has two pressure settings (high and low), and there are also little slots in the handles so that you can rest the lid there instead of putting it down on your counter-top.

Instant Pot Lasagna Ravioli
- Prep Time: 15 minutes
- Cook Time: 1 minute (plus 5 minute NPR)
- Total Time: 30 minutes
- Yield: 6 servings 1x
Description
A quick and easy meal made with ground beef, ravioli, spaghetti sauce and mozzarella cheese. All the flavors of lasagna without all the work!
Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- 1 cup water
- 1 (25 oz) package frozen cheese ravioli
- 1 (24 oz) jar your favorite spaghetti sauce
- 1 cup ricotta or cottage cheese
- 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- 3/4 cup parmesan cheese
- Optional: 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Brown beef: Turn your Instant Pot to the saute setting. When the display says HOT add in the ground beef. Break it up (I use this tool*). Sprinkle in the garlic salt.
- Deglaze: When the beef is browned add in the water and scrape the bottom of the pot so that nothing is sticking.
- Add ingredients: Add in the ravioli in an even layer and then dump the spaghetti sauce over the top of the ravioli (see my note).
- Pressure cook: Cover the pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set the manual/pressure cook button to 1 minute. When the time is up let the pot sit for 5 minutes and then move the valve to venting. Remove the lid.
- Add cheeses: Stir in the cottage cheese (or ricotta), mozzarella and parmesan.
- Serve: Scoop into bowls and top with a bit of basil.
Notes
I used a whole jar of spaghetti sauce and the dish was very saucy. If you don’t like it as saucy then you can use anywhere from a ½ jar to ¾ jar of sauce.
I used my 6 quart Instant Pot Duo 60 7 in 1*. You can also make this in an 8 quart pot with no changes. Halve the recipe for the 3 quart mini.

Great! Made this the other night. Had 2 for 1 bargain of fresh ravioli with italian sausage. Used one bag and 4 beef meatballs cut into quarters. Instructions on ravioli said 4 minutes for cook time, so set IP for that. Followed all other directions.Paul Newman spaghetti sauce with garlic. Used ricotta, didn’t tell husband (he said never liked it?), turned out perfect. Finished leftovers last night. Was better 2nd time. Told him about ricotta “hmm” great!
Anyway Loved it will make again for sure. Thank you, haven’t had a bad one yet!

Thanks for the review!
I cooked onions, mushrooms, and green peppers with ground sausage. I replaced 1 cup water with 24 ounce carton of Mexican style one pot meal sauces, added 4 cups homemade tomato sauce with added another cup of water when I saw how much liquid the vegetables had absorbed. Cooked as directed then added a 10 ounce package of frozen spinach with the cottage cheese, Parmesan, and added sharp cheddar cheese. One of the most flavorful dishes I’ve had and so simple!
Thank you, Karen, for your hard work and sacrifices you make in doing your website. You are one of my top “go to“ sites I check when wanting something quick and simple but healthy. Great job!!— we all appreciate you so much. You are needed— don’t ever doubt it!

Sounds so great Darlyne! I am so glad you find value here.
Please try to always include stove top for ALL the same recipes. I really would appreciate it much 🙏🙏🙏🙏.
If you didn’t use hamburger for a vegetarian meal, would cooking times change?
I would keep the same cooking times.
If I wanted to freeze this for Meal prep do you have any reheating suggestions? It wouldn’t be in the freezer long maybe a week, I like to mix it up and make several things so I can pick my meals. Thank you in advance!
You could reheat in the oven like a casserole however I would probably just do the microwave because that’s usually how I roll!
I reheat all my meals using the steam button on th IP for about 10-12 min. to start. Depending on how much you reheat you may need to adjust cooking times. Pasta dishes even taste freshly made as if for first time. I don’t use the microwave ever now.
I made this recipe many times now and my kids love it each time. Thank you so much for sharing this amazingly easy and absolutely delicious recipe!

You are very welcome!! I’m glad to hear that you and your kids love it.
I made this tonight with tortellini instead of ravioli (which because of our freak snowstorm couldn’t find raviolis) cooked exactly the same way and it was awesome.
Well tortellini are great too!!
Absolutely delicious and came together so quickly! I added an onion and some minced garlic to the beef while browning it and I think it added a nice flavor! Even my toddler approved 😉 Will definitely be making this one again!

Love those ideas Rachel!
I usually never “cheat” on my favorite lasagna recipe. But, needing a quicker meal after a long day, I tried this one. It was AMAZING! And SO. FAST!
I used my usual marinara sauce and it was absolutely delicious. I LOVE how saucy this turned out! The leftovers were just as delicious!
★★★★★
So glad to hear you loved it!
Brand new duo mini. Followed instructions but after the 1 minute of pressure it was warm, not hot and raviolis still cold did 2 more minutes and still had to heat in microwave. When I switched it over to venting it did not release any pressure. Flavor was good but would have faster on the stove
Sounds like it never came to pressure. Sometimes that happens and it will still start counting down. Did you scrape bottom of pan after browning the beef?
Hi Karen,
I love your recipes for the IP and follow you for meal ideas😊
I’m pretty sure that I made this using sliced sausage , watched a video with you and Kristen from Six Sisters, but can’t find the exact recipe. Can you please give me the link for that recipe?
Thanks so much!
Hi Lori, you can find the recipe for that one here: https://www.365daysofcrockpot.com/3-dump-and-go-instant-pot-freezer-meals/
This was a hit last night..
Next time I think I will add half beef and half cheese raviolis
Thank you 🙂

So glad it was well liked!
Have mercy… tried this tonight… MAGNIFICENT!

I laughed out loud when I read this Nicolle! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Not sure yet…I prepared this meal as a dump and go and was under the assumption that after I got the ingredients in the ziplock bag (minus the cheeses) I could freeze the mixture for a later date. However, putting it into the liner pot and following the instructions left us with a frozen block. What did we do wrong? Did I miss something in the directions? Super disappointed!
You pressure cooked it and it was still a frozen block? Is that right?
Really yummy and such a fast and simple way to make lasagna without all the work! I followed all the directions as is. Only changes I made were to add half an onion and some garlic with the beef. When the instant pot was finished I threw in a bag of spinach on sauté mode before adding the cheese!

Sounds so amazing Erin!
I just tried this recipe tonight as I want to make it for a dinner party next weekend. It was delicious! But then I found out one of my guests doesn’t eat meat. I am thinking of just leaving out the meat and doing the rest of the recipe as directed. I can then serve sausage links on the side for those who want meat. I am pretty new to cooking with the Instant Pot, but I think that should still work, right? Do you see any issues with the ravioli if I leave out the meat?
I bet that will work just fine.
I’m a first time user of the instant pot and mine has the slow cook set can I use this recipe with that and since I’m gonna be gone all day will it ruin the dish?
Use the slow cooker function and use this recipe: https://www.365daysofcrockpot.com/slow-cooker-lasagna-ravioli/. Make sure to use the highest slow cooker setting as the others cook too low.
Very delicious
Thanks Sandra!
Is there a way to do this in a crockpot If you don’t have the InstaPot??
Yes here is the recipe: https://www.365daysofcrockpot.com/slow-cooker-lasagna-ravioli/
Do you use high or low heat?
I always use high.
This was VERY easy and DELISH! I followed the exact recipe in my 8qt IP. Kids and husband loved it. My oldest son had fourths 😂. Thank you!
★★★★★
Ha! That is great.
This is a very easy recipe with a delicious result. Thank you
★★★★★
You’re welcome!
Do I need to place the frozen ravioli on the instant pot trivet prior to cooking? or directly in the liner with the water with the sauce?
I did directly into the liner.
So easy and delicious!
★★★★★
Glad you liked it Heather!
Hi. Great recipe.
I have a 10 quart pressure cooker. If I double this recipe, do I use same cooking time?
Thanks
★★★★★
A 10 quart pot will take a long time to come to pressure. So I would cut down on the cooking time. Which is only 1 minute to begin with. This may not work with such a big pot. You could try a 0 minute pressure cook time. Check out this article: https://www.365daysofcrockpot.com/how-to-double-instant-pot-recipes/
If the ravioli not frozen do I still cook it for a minute? Will it come out mushy?
Is it fresh ravioli? I would try 1 minute.
Wow!!!! This recipe is fantastic. It is fast and flavorful. I cut the recipe in half as I only cook for 2. The only thing I did not half is the water and I used 2/3 cup. The instant pot I used was the 3 quart Ultra. I did not change the times listed in the full recipe. The only change I will make next time is decrease the garlic salt to 1/4 tsp for half the recipe. We eat most everything with sodium restriction so others may not want to decrease this much. Thank you so much for all the wonderful recipes you are making available.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing your experience Melissa!
Do you put ravioli in frozen?
yes
Very delicious in flavor but mine didn’t look as pretty as your pictures. Only change I made was spicy sausage instead of hamburger We will make it again.
★★★★★
Sounds good with the spicy sausage!
Very good recipe!! I used a different technique, mixing all the cheeses with an egg, and layering in between the layers of raviolis and cooking everything together since this is also what I do when I make my regular lasagna in the IP. Worked great and there was no breaking of the ravs at the end when you suggested to mix in the cheeses. I will be making this again, for sure!!
oh good! I’m glad it worked this way.
Can you freeze this, I like to bulk cook
I think you could. But it would be a little weird since it is frozen ravioli and then you’d cook it and then freeze it again. Might be a little too much for the pasta.
Could you brown the meat before you put it in the pot?
That’s what I did!
The author did brown her burger in the Instant Pot but you certainly could brown your beef on the stove before proceeding with the recipe if you prefer. Sounds like such a simple and easy weeknight dish, doesn’t it?
Can I use a crock pot instead? Cook time?
Here’s the slow cooker version: https://www.365daysofcrockpot.com/slow-cooker-lasagna-ravioli/
I do not have a manual pressure cook time on my Insta pot it is a crockpot instant pot I am trying to make your lasagna ravioli what do you suggest I do
What model do you have? is it a crockpot express? if you use a programmed button can you adjust the time? I’d do that if you can.
Yes it is but There is no manual cook option
I am not sure which program button to select for the lasagna recipe
It doesn’t matter which button you use. Just let it get to pressure for one minutes on one of the buttons and then unplug it. All the programs cook the same way but are just programmed for different times.
Do you drain the grease before adding water?
★★★★★
If there’s a lot of grease then yes. I didn’t have hardly any in mine. I guess it will depend on your sausage.
I made this last night when I needed a quick meal for unexpected guests. My guys raved about it. I omitted the ground beef, using a sausage Bolognese sauce that I had in the freezer (thawed in the microwave first). I also subbed half a block of cream cheese for the ricotta, but otherwise followed your recipe. Delicious and so easy!
★★★★★
Yum! Your version sounds so good!
Can I double this recipe and use same cooking time?
yes!
If I don’t use frozen ravioli is the cooking time still the same? Can’t wait to try this, looks yummy!
Is it fresh ravioli? What does the back of the package say for cooking time on the stove?
Packages says cook for 3-4 mins
I would use the same cooking time then!
Yummy! This was so easy to make and tasty.
★★★★
Glad you liked it!
Do you put the ravioli in frozen?
yes
Can you use a crooked pot?
I’d like to see a picture. Is the inner liner of your Instant Pot damaged?
Can I use tortellini instead have no ravioli 😏
yes! I bet that will taste great.
Would using 25 ounces of smaller sized frozen ravioli work also? We usually have small square ravioli in the freezer. Thank you!
Oh sure. It will cook quicker though so I might try a zero pressure cook time instead of 1 minute.
Thank you!
I just made your Italian tortellini soup last night and it was so good! Looking forward to making this too! I just subscribed to get more of your recipes! 😍
Glad to have you on board April!!!
If you use the whole jar of sauce do you need to add the water?
I like to add the water to ensure it comes to pressure and doesn’t give me the burn signal. I used all the water and all the sauce. It’s really tasty!
