Instant Pot Lasagna Ravioli--a quick and easy meal made with ground beef, ravioli, spaghetti sauce and mozzarella cheese. All the flavors of lasagna without all the work!

Instant Pot Lasagna Ravioli

This is such a delicious recipe not to mention how easy it is to make. It only has a handful of ingredients. The hardest part is browning the ground beef.

I like to buy the frozen cheese raviolis for this recipe. I usually find a bag of ravioli by the frozen bread section at Winco, Walmart or Smiths.

If you don’t want to use ground beef you can use ground turkey, ground chicken or ground pork. If you want more flavor you can use ground Italian sausage.

I used a jar of whatever spaghetti sauce was on sale but you can use your favorite spaghetti sauce flavor. It is really a saucy recipe so if you want more of an even sauce to pasta ratio then only use a ½ jar of sauce as opposed to the whole jar.

My daughter’s friend was over when I made this Instant Pot lasagna ravioli and her mom called a while later to get the recipe because her daughter loved it so much. I know you’ll love it too! Add the ingredients to your shopping list and try it out.

What Pressure Cooker Did You Use?

To make Instant Pot Lasagna Ravioli I used my 6 quart Instant Pot Duo 60 7 in 1*. I love this Instant Pot because it has the yogurt making function which I use almost weekly.  It has two pressure settings (high and low), and there are also little slots in the handles so that you can rest the lid there instead of putting it down on your counter-top.

Description

A quick and easy meal made with ground beef, ravioli, spaghetti sauce and mozzarella cheese. All the flavors of lasagna without all the work!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 (25 oz) package frozen cheese ravioli
  • 1 (24 oz) jar your favorite spaghetti sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta or cottage cheese
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 3/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • Optional: 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brown beef: Turn your Instant Pot to the saute setting. When the display says HOT add in the ground beef. Break it up (I use this tool*). Sprinkle in the garlic salt.
  2. Deglaze: When the beef is browned add in the water and scrape the bottom of the pot so that nothing is sticking.
  3. Add ingredients: Add in the ravioli in an even layer and then dump the spaghetti sauce over the top of the ravioli (see my note).
  4. Pressure cook: Cover the pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set the manual/pressure cook button to 1 minute. When the time is up let the pot sit for 5 minutes and then move the valve to venting. Remove the lid.
  5. Add cheeses: Stir in the cottage cheese (or ricotta), mozzarella and parmesan.
  6. Serve: Scoop into bowls and top with a bit of basil.

Notes

I used a whole jar of spaghetti sauce and the dish was very saucy. If you don’t like it as saucy then you can use anywhere from a ½ jar to ¾ jar of sauce.

I used my 6 quart Instant Pot Duo 60 7 in 1*. You can also make this in an 8 quart pot with no changes. Halve the recipe for the 3 quart mini.

Great! Made this the other night. Had 2 for 1 bargain of fresh ravioli with italian sausage. Used one bag and 4 beef meatballs cut into quarters. Instructions on ravioli said 4 minutes for cook time, so set IP for that. Followed all other directions.Paul Newman spaghetti sauce with garlic. Used ricotta, didn’t tell husband (he said never liked it?), turned out perfect. Finished leftovers last night. Was better 2nd time. Told him about ricotta “hmm” great!
Anyway Loved it will make again for sure. Thank you, haven’t had a bad one yet!

I cooked onions, mushrooms, and green peppers with ground sausage. I replaced 1 cup water with 24 ounce carton of Mexican style one pot meal sauces, added 4 cups homemade tomato sauce with added another cup of water when I saw how much liquid the vegetables had absorbed. Cooked as directed then added a 10 ounce package of frozen spinach with the cottage cheese, Parmesan, and added sharp cheddar cheese. One of the most flavorful dishes I’ve had and so simple!

Thank you, Karen, for your hard work and sacrifices you make in doing your website. You are one of my top “go to“ sites I check when wanting something quick and simple but healthy. Great job!!— we all appreciate you so much. You are needed— don’t ever doubt it!

You could reheat in the oven like a casserole however I would probably just do the microwave because that’s usually how I roll!

I reheat all my meals using the steam button on th IP for about 10-12 min. to start. Depending on how much you reheat you may need to adjust cooking times. Pasta dishes even taste freshly made as if for first time. I don’t use the microwave ever now.

I used my usual marinara sauce and it was absolutely delicious. I LOVE how saucy this turned out! The leftovers were just as delicious!

Brand new duo mini. Followed instructions but after the 1 minute of pressure it was warm, not hot and raviolis still cold did 2 more minutes and still had to heat in microwave. When I switched it over to venting it did not release any pressure. Flavor was good but would have faster on the stove

Sounds like it never came to pressure. Sometimes that happens and it will still start counting down. Did you scrape bottom of pan after browning the beef?

Not sure yet…I prepared this meal as a dump and go and was under the assumption that after I got the ingredients in the ziplock bag (minus the cheeses) I could freeze the mixture for a later date. However, putting it into the liner pot and following the instructions left us with a frozen block. What did we do wrong? Did I miss something in the directions? Super disappointed!

When the instant pot was finished I threw in a bag of spinach on sauté mode before adding the cheese!

I just tried this recipe tonight as I want to make it for a dinner party next weekend. It was delicious! But then I found out one of my guests doesn’t eat meat. I am thinking of just leaving out the meat and doing the rest of the recipe as directed. I can then serve sausage links on the side for those who want meat. I am pretty new to cooking with the Instant Pot, but I think that should still work, right? Do you see any issues with the ravioli if I leave out the meat?

A 10 quart pot will take a long time to come to pressure. So I would cut down on the cooking time. Which is only 1 minute to begin with. This may not work with such a big pot. You could try a 0 minute pressure cook time. Check out this article: https://www.365daysofcrockpot.com/how-to-double-instant-pot-recipes/

Wow!!!! This recipe is fantastic. It is fast and flavorful. I cut the recipe in half as I only cook for 2. The only thing I did not half is the water and I used 2/3 cup. The instant pot I used was the 3 quart Ultra. I did not change the times listed in the full recipe. The only change I will make next time is decrease the garlic salt to 1/4 tsp for half the recipe. We eat most everything with sodium restriction so others may not want to decrease this much. Thank you so much for all the wonderful recipes you are making available.

Very good recipe!! I used a different technique, mixing all the cheeses with an egg, and layering in between the layers of raviolis and cooking everything together since this is also what I do when I make my regular lasagna in the IP. Worked great and there was no breaking of the ravs at the end when you suggested to mix in the cheeses. I will be making this again, for sure!!

Would using 25 ounces of smaller sized frozen ravioli work also? We usually have small square ravioli in the freezer. Thank you!

Oh sure. It will cook quicker though so I might try a zero pressure cook time instead of 1 minute.

If you use the whole jar of sauce do you need to add the water?

I like to add the water to ensure it comes to pressure and doesn’t give me the burn signal. I used all the water and all the sauce. It’s really tasty!
