Can’t figure out what to make for dinner tonight? BINGO! This bingo casserole is your answer. Everyone will love this hearty casserole dish. It’s like sloppy joes in a pan.
With ground beef, a homemade sloppy joe sauce, sweet corn, cheddar cheese and a browned crescent roll top it’s hard not to love a dinner like this one. Take this bingo casserole along to your next potluck or party. It’s hard not to take a second helping of this delicious beef casserole!
Ingredients/Substitution Ideas
- Lean ground beef–or ground turkey
- Garlic cloves
- Tomato sauce
- Ketchup
- Brown sugar
- Worcestershire sauce
- Yellow mustard
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Black pepper
- Kosher salt
- Frozen sweet white corn–or a drained can of corn
- Cheddar cheese
- Pillsbury crescent dough sheet–or biscuits
Steps
Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Heat an oven safe pan over medium high heat on the stove (I used a cast iron pan). Add in the beef and break it up. Brown for about 5 minutes.
Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, salt and corn.
Sprinkle the cheese on top. Turn off the heat.
Unroll the crescent roll dough and spread it over the top.
You might have to cut off and rework a few pieces to make it work in a circular pan.
Bake for 15-20 minutes. Slice, serve and enjoy!
Notes/Tips
- Serve with a broccoli salad or fruit salad.
- Try adding in a small can of sliced olives when you add in the corn.
- Try adding in some sliced mushrooms while you brown the beef.
- Try adding in a diced green pepper while you brown the beef.
- I used a 12 inch cast iron skillet* to make this recipe.
- This meal is best the night of because of the crescent roll topping. However you can store the leftovers in an airtight container* in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

The first non-IP recipe I’ve made from here and it was very tasty. I made it as written, with the exception of not using the garlic cloves as there were no notes on how to use ’em here. A 10-inch cast iron skillet worked well here and I got a chance to use the new (to me) frozen fire-roasted corn, which I’m sure added more depth to the flavors. This meal was a success.
