Description

Browned ground beef in a homemade sweet and savory sauce topped with cheese and a crescent roll topping. An easy weeknight dinner!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Pinch of kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen sweet white corn (or a drained can of corn)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 (8 oz) package Pillsbury crescent dough sheet

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Heat an oven safe pan over medium high heat on the stove (I used a cast iron pan). Add in the beef and break it up. Brown for about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the garlic, tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, salt  and corn. Sprinkle the cheese on top. Turn off the heat. Unroll the crescent roll dough and spread it over the top. You might have to cut off and rework a few pieces to make it work in a circular pan.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Slice, serve and enjoy!
