4-Ingredient Slow Cooker Casserole
If you love lasagna but don’t love all the work that goes into making it, this recipe is for you! With just 4 ingredients and about 10 minutes of prep time, you can have a delicious, cheesy Italian dinner cooking away in your slow cooker. I love using frozen ravioli because it takes the place of traditional lasagna noodles and adds an extra layer of cheesy goodness. Greg and I both loved how hearty and flavorful this turned out, especially with the Italian sausage and roasted garlic sauce!
Ingredients/Substitution Ideas
- Italian sausage–use mild or hot Italian sausage depending on how much spice you like
- Frozen ravioli–you can also use tortellini
- Mezzetta roasted garlic sauce–or your favorite jarred marinara or pasta sauce
- Shredded mozzarella–or an Italian cheese blend
Steps
Heat a pan over medium high heat. Add in the Italian sausage and break it up. Brown for about 5 minutes. Transfer half to the slow cooker.

Add in half of the ravioli and half of the sauce. Layer in the remaining sausage, ravioli and sauce.

Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours.
Sprinkle the mozzarella on top and let it melt.

Serve and enjoy!

Notes/Tips
- Serve with a green salad or Caesar salad and garlic bread.
- There’s no need to thaw the ravioli before adding it to the slow cooker. Just layer it in straight from the freezer.
- If you want to add in veggies try adding in a handful of fresh spinach with the ravioli and sauce. You could also add sautΓ©ed mushrooms or zucchini.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container* in the refrigerator for 4 days. Freeze leftovers for up to 3 months.
- Other recipes you can make with mozzarella are Instant Pot Caprese Chicken and Attention Span Casserole.
- Tools:
- I used my 4 quart slow cooker* but next time I’d use a 6 quart slow cooker so there would be more room.
- Wooden saute paddle*
- Cheese grater*
