Wheelhouse Casserole–a fast and easy breakfast skillet casserole with sausage, tater tots, cheddar and eggs.

Wheelhouse Casserole
This is a delightful breakfast dish (we had it as breakfast for dinner). It’s fast and easy with only a handful of ingredients. Greg had a huge piece and so did I. We loved it with a bit of salsa on top. You only need one pan for cooking and baking, minimizing cleanup. Perfect for busy mornings or casual gatherings.
Recipe adapted from Easy Wheelhouse Breakfast on Anglingbuzz.com.
Ingredients/Substitution Ideas
- Breakfast sausage–I like using Jimmy Dean Sausage
- Tater tots

Notes/Tips
- Serve with a few drops of hot sauce or salsa.
- I used my large Farberware pan*. It is oven safe up to 350° F.
- You can easily customize it. Swap breakfast sausage for bacon, ham, or even a plant-based sausage. Add veggies like peppers, onions, or spinach for extra nutrition.
- This recipe can be gluten free if you use gluten free tater tots.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container* in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Instant Pot Sausage Gravy
Country style gravy made with ground sausage and diced bacon is infused with flavors as it is quickly pressure cooked. When served over freshly baked biscuits (homemade or from a can) it tastes like a good old fashioned southern breakfast (although we eat this often for dinner).
Rainbow Casserole
A colorful and healthy breakfast casserole with veggies and protein in each piece. If you have leftovers it makes a fast and easy breakfast that’s easy to reheat.

If I use a baking dish instead of pan what size do I use?
I’d use a square 9×9 inch baking dish
Thank you!
I made this recipe and it is truly delicious. I enjoyed that it was so simple to make and that the ingredients were so readily available. Will definitely be making this again.
Thanks so much for the review and the 5 stars Keith!
Few ingredients!👍🏻 Easy!👍🏻 Delicious!👍🏻😋
We enjoyed this delicious casserole as “BFD”(Breakfast For Dinner”…which we always enjoy!)
Steamed spinach and salsa went nicely with it.
With so few ingredients it was easy enough for my non-cooking hubby to make, as I am recovering after a nasty 2+ week go with covid 🤧🤒😷
We didn’t have breakfast sausage on hand but did have mild Italian, so that’s what he cooked up.
He was very proud to make a nice BFD for us…I hope it encourages him to take up cooking 😉😊
Thank you Karen for another winner 🏆
You’re so welcome! I hope you start feeling better soon. That does NOT sound fun!! Good job to your hubby!
