Slow Cooker Savory Pork Burrito Bowls
Well now that the weather is heating up I officially don’t want to cook on my stove or eat hot soups and foods. That’s where the slow cooker comes into play. I can throw food in the crockpot in the morning and let it cook all day on low. And it doesn’t heat up your kitchen. I made this delicious shredded salsa pork and served it with lots of fresh ingredients like a lime wedge, lettuce, tomatoes, cilantro and guacamole. This meal screams summer to me.
Now if you’re not a pork fan you can easily make this meat with chicken or with beef. It’s such a simple recipe but the meat is flavored perfectly. I ended up using pork country style ribs that were completely frozen solid. I’ve noted the different meats and the cooking times below.

What Slow Cooker Did You Use?
For this Slow Cooker Savory Pork Burrito Bowls recipe I used my 6 quart oval Kitchenaid slow cooker. I love this slow cooker (you can see me talking about it in a video here). It cooks low and evenly. I love the medium heat choice because most slow cookers that I’ve seen only have the option of cooking on low or high. If you’re going to buy just one slow cooker, this is the one that I recommend.
