Devil’s Chicken–an easy dump-and-go slow cooker chicken with a sweet and tangy sauce.

Devil’s Chicken
I love this recipe because it’s the definition of easy…just toss everything in the slow cooker and let it do the work! The chicken turns out super tender and the sauce has that fun mix of sweet, savory, and a tiny kick of heat. It’s easy to double or even triple if you’re feeding a crowd. This is a basic, simple pantry recipe you’ll love. (Recipe adapted from Devilled Chicken on Great British Recipes).
Ingredients/Substitution Ideas
- Boneless skinless chicken thighs–or chicken breasts, or bone-in chicken pieces
- Tomato sauce
- Peach, apricot or mango jam
- Cayenne pepper
- Mustard powder
- Kosher salt
- Black pepper
- Worcestershire sauce
- Water
- Cornstarch
Steps
Place chicken into slow cooker.

In a small bowl whisk together the tomato sauce, jam, cayenne, mustard powder, salt, pepper, Worcestershire and water. Pour the mixture over the chicken.

Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours. You can also choose to keep the chicken in whole pieces, in which case you would want to cook for 4 hours on low.

If you’d like to thicken the sauce then stir the cornstarch together with 2 Tbsp of cold water until smooth. Stir the mixture into the slow cooker and turn to high. Cook without the lid until sauce thickens (about 10 minutes).

Serve and enjoy!
