Hi there! Today I’m going to be sharing with you, not just one but, five slow cooker recipes. I know, I know. Don’t get too excited. Let’s play a little game. I’ll tell you the name of all five recipes and you tell me what ingredient they all have in common. The recipes are:

• Slow Cooker Scalloped Potatoes
• Slow Cooker Taco Dip
• Slow Cooker Hashbrown Casserole
• Slow Cooker Cheeseburger Soup
• Slow Cooker Crustless Spinach Quiche

Can you guess?

The answer is cheese, of course! A great tasting recipe always starts off with cheese fresh off the block.

5 scrumptious slow cooker recipes that start with cheese fresh off the block cheese

And we aren’t just using any cheese for these recipes we are going to be using Sargento® Shredded Cheese. Sargento® Shredded Cheese is always shredded from blocks of real, natural cheese. If you’re a cheese person you’ll appreciate how delicious Sargento® cheese is! At Sargento®, everything they do is for the love of cheese. For today’s recipes I used Sargento® Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese and Sargento® Shredded 4 Cheese Mexican. I had such a fun time developing these recipes and my family had a great time eating them. I think our favorite was the slow cooker cheeseburger soup, but it’s a toss-up on which recipe won second place.

I love using sharp or extra sharp Cheddar in slow cooker recipes. That extra flavor from the sharp Cheddar cheese is just what foods that cook for a long time in the slow cooker need. Food cooked in the slow cooker can tend to get bland and watered down. By adding fresh off the block Sargento® Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese to casseroles and soups after the food has cooked you really get that punch of flavor that you’re looking for in a tasty dinner.

And the Sargento® Shredded 4 Cheese Mexican is so diverse because it has Monterey jack, Cheddar, queso quesadilla and asadero natural cheeses all in one package. I love keeping a bag of this in my fridge to sprinkle on top of tacos or quesadillas but also on non-Mexican food too. It’s just a good well-rounded mix. So let’s get cooking! Pick up these two bags of Sargento® Shredded Cheese to create these 5 awesome slow cooker recipes this week at your house.

Slow Cooker Cheeseburger Soup

I’ve seen a lot of recipes around the internet for cheeseburger soup but they all had one thing in common. They used some sort of processed cheese. I wanted to make this comforting meal but with real, natural cheese instead. The results were fantastic and all our bowls were licked clean.

Slow Cooker Scalloped Potatoes

Scalloped potatoes are essential at a big family dinner but the problem is where are you going to bake them? The oven is full of ham or turkey and the stove top is busy too with other side dishes bubbling away. The answer is, of course, your slow cooker. Free up oven space and make this classic dish in the slow cooker. This version has bacon on top of the cheesy and creamy potatoes which I think just gives it a little something extra.

Slow Cooker Taco Dip

I love this taco dip because it’s one of those recipes where you can pretty much throw everything into the slow cooker and be done. No browning required beforehand. It’s the perfect appetizer or a great game day snack. Kids and adults both love this cheesy taco dip.

Slow Cooker Hashbrown Casserole

This Slow Cooker Hashbrown Casserole is one of those recipes that you just have to make for potlucks and big family dinners. It’s often called funeral potatoes or cheesy potatoes too. But seriously whatever you call it, it’s delicious. I had to stop myself from eating only these potatoes for dinner. The sharp cheddar and the 4 cheese Mexican cheese give it the flavor dimension that it needs.

Slow Cooker Crustless Spinach Quiche

I bet you didn’t know you could make quiche in the slow cooker. I like to make crustless quiche for a healthier, gluten free alternative. It tastes amazing for brunch or sometimes I make this as a “breakfast for dinner.” I like to use fresh spinach in this recipe to give it a pop of color and some extra nutrition.
