Sticky Honey Chicken–an easy slow cooker recipe of juicy chicken tenderloins glazed in a sweet and savory sauce made with honey, soy sauce, fresh ginger, and garlic that’s ready in just a couple of hours.

Sticky Honey Chicken
I love a good dump and go recipe and this is another one to add to your list! The chicken is tender and the sauce thickens into a glossy glaze that coats every bite. I was concerned that this would be too sweet with the honey but the savory soy sauce and kicking sriracha evens it all out. You can start with frozen chicken tenderloins, making this perfect for those nights when you forgot to thaw anything. My tip: don’t skip flipping the chicken halfway through. It ensures every piece gets evenly coated in the sauce. Enjoy!
Ingredients/Substitution Ideas
- Chicken tenderloins–or chicken breasts cut into strips, or thighs cut into chunks
- Kosher salt–or sea salt
- Honey
- Soy sauce–or tamari
- Fresh ginger
- Sriracha
- Garlic cloves
- Chicken broth–or water and Better Than Bouillon chicken base
- Cornstarch
Steps
Add chicken into slow cooker. Spread it out so it’s not overlapping, if you can.

In a bowl whisk together all remaining ingredients. Pour the sauce over the chicken.

Cover and cook on low for 1 hour, flip chicken over, cook for 1 more hour.

Serve chicken with sauce and enjoy!

Notes/Tips
- Serve oven over steamed rice, jasmine rice, or cauliflower rice. It’s also great with roasted broccoli or green beans.
- Make it extra saucy by 1.5x-ing the sauce ingredients.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving for a nice looking presentation.
- This recipe can be gluten free if you use gluten free soy sauce.
- This recipe is dairy free.
- I used my 6 quart Ninja slow cooker. This also works in a smaller slow cooker such as a 3 quart.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container* in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Freeze the cooked chicken and sauce together for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge and reheat gently.
