Instant Pot 3-Ingredient Peach Cobbler
One of my most popular recipes this time of year is my slow cooker 3-ingredient peach cobbler. It’s so easy to make and it truly is such a yummy treat. Peaches are in season and we had a big bowl full that we got at a produce stand. I wanted to see if I could make peach cobbler in the Instant Pot. It worked out really well. I have to say that the fresh peaches are the star of this dish! They were amazing. If needs be you can use frozen peaches but I do not suggest using canned peaches or canned peach pie filling. I just don’t think it would taste as good and I feel like they would get too soggy.

What Pressure Cooker Did You Use?
For Instant Pot 3-Ingredient Peach Cobbler I used my 6 quart Instant Pot Duo 60 7 in 1 for this recipe. I also own the 6 quart Instant Pot IP-LUX60 V3 Programmable Electric Pressure Cooker. They are both great pressure cookers! The first one I mentioned has a yogurt making function but other than that they are fairly similar. The price difference between the two is about $20.

Instant Pot 3-Ingredient Peach Cobbler
- Prep Time: 15 minutes
- Cook Time: 10 minutes (plus 10 minutes to release pressure)
- Total Time: 25 minutes
- Yield: 6 servings 1x
Description
Fresh peaches, a cake mix and butter are all you need for this simple but totally delicious recipe. Make it quickly in your electric pressure cooker so you can enjoy is faster!
Ingredients
- Half of one 15.25 oz box white cake mix
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 6–8 medium peaches, peeled and sliced
Instructions
- Place the sliced peaches into an oven safe dish/bowl that will fit inside your Instant Pot. I used a 1.6 liter corningware dish. Sprinkle the cake mix over the top of the peaches. Then dump the butter over the top of the cake mix.
- Place a piece of foil over the top of the bowl (this will prevent drippage on top of your cobbler). Place the bowl on top of the trivet that came with your Instant Pot. Pour 1 cup of water into the bottom of the Instant Pot. Slowly lower the bowl and trivet into the bottom of the Instant Pot.
- Cover the Instant Pot and make sure the valve is set to “sealing.” Set the timer on manual for 15 minutes (it should be on high pressure). Once the timer beeps let the pressure come down naturally for 10 minutes. Then release any extra pressure by switching the valve to “venting.”
- Remove the lid. Using hot pads, carefully lift the trivet and bowl out of the Instant Pot. If you’d like to brown the top of the cobbler you can do this by removing the foil and sticking the bowl under the broiler of your oven for 3-4 minutes.
- Serve the peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
I used my 6 quart Instant Pot. If fresh peaches aren’t in season you can use frozen peaches instead.

if i wanted to use a 6 or 7in springform pan because I don’t have the corningware dish, what would the adjusted time be? Thanks!
I’d use the same time.
Skyler is Adorable!
Thanks! He is my bud!
This is an old “basic recipe” for a dutch oven. The crust just turns into mush this way and baking after might help a little. Don’t waste your time and do it in a dutch oven and do it this way (decent) or do it with your own flour mix etc.

Such a great demo! Way to go, Skylar.
In the recipe it says put cake on top of peaches and then pour butter on top of cake (no mixing). In the video the little man cut the butter into the cake prior to putting it on the peaches. Which way should I do it?
Thanks
Hi, I’ve done it both ways and prefer the melted butter poured over the top.
What is the recipe for the 4 ingredients rump roast?
here is the recipe: https://www.365daysofcrockpot.com/instant-pot-3-ingredient-rump-roast/
Could you do something like this with apples?
I bet you could! I would cook longer though for apples.
I have an abundance of plums, would they work with this recipe?
Possibly! I haven’t tried it. Sounds interesting though.
Thank you. Think I might, maybe, try it.
I made this and it came out very “gummy”. What did I do wrong?
I knew better. It came out horrible and we threw it away. I recommend making it the ‘real’ way or revising the recipe.

This is a dumb question–about how much is 1/2 of a 15.25 oz of cake mix?
Love your recipes!
Oh shoot I don’t know. I always use my kitchen scale and measure it out!
What is your preference? Recipe calls for 1/2 box cake mix, video shows full box?
1/2 box
Thank you for the recipe! Curious. Why do it in a separate bowl, but not directly in the instant pot lining? By the way, your little chef in the video is adorable!
Thank you I think so too!
You’d get the burn signal. You need liquid in the pot for it to come to pressure.
I haven’t made this in my instant pot but I thought I would give my input on using a spice cake mix. We love our peach cobbler with spice cake when we make it in our Dutch oven when we are camping.
So, I’m brand new to the whole instant pot thing and according to the directions it says that I have to use at least two cups of water every time I use it. It is a 6-quart pot, can I get away with one cup of water or am I setting myself up for failure?
Mine always comes to pressure with even 1/2 cup of liquid. Is yours an actual Instant Pot?
Would you have a rough idea how many cups of peaches this would equal if I use frozen?
Probably about 6-8 cups
If I don’t have either fresh or frozen, can I use canned?
★★★★★
yes, drain them first.
I have tried using frozen peaches, purred, in making home made sorbets or ice cream. I find they are too hard and not ripe enough… Is that because they are meant to be cooked ? If I use canned , drained peaches, approx. how many ups or ozs. I usually have 28 oz cans on hand. Thank you in advance. If I make this, it will be the first time I buy a cake mix,but it sounds so quick and easy. could I use an ordinary peach cobbler recipe in my Instant Pot ?
I would use at least 1 28 ounce can…maybe more. It’s up to you and how many peaches you like. I am not sure about the ordinary recipe. You might need to experiment with time. Let me know!
Thanks again. I am going to have fun in the kitchen this weekend. No doctors appointments till Monday, and the weather is lousy…cold, wet, rainy, , flooding, and snow is predicted too. Good time for warm comforting food. I will try out the peach cobbler and the three ingredient rump roast . YUM.
Have a great weekend!
Hi there, can I please get some advise? I have a Bestek 6-quart slow cooker, I’m new to this type of cooking, I would love to try some of your meals, they look beautiful, only thing I am concerned about it you are using a different slow cooker, can I use same cooking method, can’t wait to try the slow cooking way.
Hi Margaret, the cooking times I give will work for your slow cooker. Each slow cooker is a bit different so you’ll have to see how the recipes work and you’ll get a feel if you need to subtract time or increase time. Generally all slow cookers will fall in range that I give though. Good luck!
My granddaughter made this for us. Self esteem boost for days! We are still raving about the best dessert ever. Thank you so much for sharing. I wish you could have seen her happy face.

That is so sweet! Thanks for sharing.
This is the second time making this recipe. I tripled the ingredients this time because there were no leftovers when I made it the first time! Absolutely delicious! Everyone in the family loved them. Followed the recipe exactly as written. Directions were clear and easy to follow. Thanks for the fabulous meal. I am already scouring your website looking for more!

So glad you liked it!!
We tried this (with strawberries) and lemon cake mix. It was pretty tasty but I used half of a box of 18oz and found it was really not enough- to the point that the edges barely had any topping. I would do the full box next time, not sure how much I would adjust the butter yet though. Thank you for the scrumptious recipe!
I like the idea of lemon and strawberries! If you use the whole cake mix use a whole stick of butter (1/2 cup).
Sure, thanks for the tip!!!
Can you use canned peaches
I’ve never tried it but I bet you could. Not the fresh taste but probably still yummy.
Hi where did you get the trivet with long handles, I’d like to order one. Thanks!
Well, it came with my Instant Pot but I think you can order it online if you want. http://amzn.to/2fTc2dk This one seems similar.
If I use frozen peaches, do they need to be thawed first. Would I use the same amount of time for frozen? Thank you!
same amount of time for frozen, no need to thaw.
He is so cute! Great job!
I can’t wait to try this!!!
He is my buddy!
I have 2 boxes of cake mix in my pantry, and both are 18.25 oz., Could I just measure out the equivalent of half of the 15.25 box of mix? Also, any reason I couldn’t use yellow cake mix?
yep just measure it out and yes yellow would work great!
