Instant Pot Family Feud Casserole

Family Feud Casserole

Today’s recipe is good enough to cause a family fight over the leftovers. With bacon, onions, potatoes, green beans, ground beef and cheese it’s got tons of flavor. You’ll love that you can make dinner all in one pot and with just a 4 minute pressure cooking time.

Ingredients/Substitution Ideas

  • Bacon–or turkey bacon
  • Onion–yellow or white
  • Ground beef–I used very lean (93/7). Or ground turkey
  • Kosher salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Chili powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • Beef broth–or water and Better than Bouillon beef base
  • Red potatoes–or yellow potatoes, peeled Russet potatoes
  • Canned green beans–or you can use frozen/fresh
  • Colby monterey jack shredded cheese–or another type of cheese like cheddar

Steps

Turn Instant Pot to saute setting. When display says HOT add in the bacon and fry it up until crispy. Use a slotted spoon to move the bacon to a paper towel lined plate.

Add the onion into the pot with the bacon grease and fry it up for a couple minutes.

Then add in the ground beef and cook through. Stir in ¾ tsp of the kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, chili powder and paprika.

Pour in the broth and scrape bottom of pot so that nothing is sticking. Turn off Instant Pot.

Add in the potatoes and green beans.

Cover the pot and secure the lid. Make sure nothing is sticking. Set the manual/pressure cook button to 4 minutes. When time is up let pot sit for 5-10 minutes and then move valve to venting. Remove the lid.

Gently stir in the cheese. Serve topped with the bacon. Enjoy!

    Hi Karen,
I just made this last night. I know I followed it to the letter but mine came out with a lot of liquid. What could’ve gone wrong? It is delicious though.

I tried this casserole this evening. It was very good. I used fresh green beans and russet potatoes. I didnt have bacon except bacon bites and threw them in with the cheese. Used Olive oil to cook my onions. Thanks Karen another good recipe.
