Description

Ground beef, potatoes, green beans, bacon and cheese made in your Instant Pot. A family favorite that may cause a family fight on who gets the last bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 1 pound ground beef (93/7)
  • 1 tsp kosher salt, divided
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/8 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 1/4 pound red potatoes, cubed
  • 1 (15 oz) can green beans (or you can use frozen/fresh)
  • 1 cup colby monterey jack shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. Turn Instant Pot to saute setting. When display says HOT add in the bacon and fry it up until crispy. Use a slotted spoon to move the bacon to a paper towel lined plate.
  2. Add the onion into the pot with the bacon grease and fry it up for a couple minutes. Then add in the ground beef and cook through.
  3. Stir in ¾ tsp of the kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, chili powder and paprika.
  4. Pour in the broth and scrape bottom of pot so that nothing is sticking. Turn off Instant Pot.
  5. Add in the potatoes and sprinkle them with the remaining ¼ tsp of salt. Add in the green beans.
  6. Cover the pot and secure the lid. Make sure nothing is sticking. Set the manual/pressure cook button to 4 minutes. When time is up let pot sit for 5-10 minutes and then move valve to venting. Remove the lid.
  7. Gently stir in the cheese.
  8. Serve topped with the bacon. Enjoy!
