2-Ingredient Cinnamon Roll Apple Lasagna–an easy 2-ingredient dessert (or brunch!) made with layers of gooey cinnamon rolls, warm apple pie filling and cream cheese frosting.

2-Ingredient Cinnamon Roll Apple Lasagna
Greg and I loved this one! It was so good served warm with the gooey apples, cinnamon rolls and cream cheese frosting. I call it a “lasagna” because the cinnamon roll pieces and apple pie filling are layered together in the pan. And the best part is that you only need two ingredients and about five minutes to get it into the oven! Keep this recipe in your back pocket when you need an easy brunch recipe or when you want a fun fall treat!
Ingredients/Substitution Ideas
- Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls with Cream Cheese Frosting–Look for the big tub that says Pillsbury Grands! Cinnamon Rolls made with Cinnabon cinnamon
- Apple pie filling
- Cinnamon and nutmeg (optional)
Steps
Heat oven to 350° F. Spray a 8×8 inch pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Use kitchen shears to cut half of the cinnamon rolls into ½ inch pieces and place them in the bottom of the pan.

Spread the apple pie filling over the top. If desired, sprinkle a little cinnamon and nutmeg over the top of the apples.

Then cut the remaining cinnamon rolls and place them on top.
Bake for 25 minutes, until golden brown on top. Cover with foil and bake for 15 more minutes.

Take the cream cheese frosting that came with the cinnamon rolls and spread it over the top.
Serve and enjoy!

Notes/Tips
- This is best served warm when the cinnamon rolls are soft and gooey and the frosting melts down into all the cracks. Serve with cool whip, a drizzle of caramel sauce or vanilla ice cream.
- With only 2 ingredients this recipe would be a good candidate for camping, cabin-ing, RVing, etc.
- This could definitely pass as a sweet breakfast or brunch dish!
- Once the top is nicely browned, loosely covering the pan with foil allows the middle to continue baking without the top getting too dark.
- For best results make sure the cream cheese frosting is room temperature. I put mine in the microwave at 50% power for 20 seconds to get it to be more spreadable.
- I used a 8×8 inch pan* to bake this in.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container* in the refrigerator for 4-5 days. Warm individual portions in the microwave for about 15–30 seconds. It’s much better warm than straight from the refrigerator.
