5 Guys Casserole–leftover french fries casserole. It’s like cheesy potato casserole but it’s made with fries instead.

5 Guys Casserole
Today’s recipe is a way to use up leftover restaurant french fries. Whenever I have extra fries on my plate after eating at a restaurant I don’t bring them home since they won’t ever taste as good once I get home and refrigerate them. But now there is a way to use up those leftover fries. I got the idea for this recipe from the South in my Mouth. The author states, “In the years we’ve been going to Five Guys we’ve never come close to finishing an order of fries, even if we’re splitting them. And it pains me to throw them away. Until now. Because I have brilliantly come up with a way to use leftover Five Guys fries.” This casserole is basically a cheesy potato casserole recipe but instead of hashbrowns or cubed potatoes you use leftover chopped fries.
Ingredients/Substitution Ideas
- Leftover french fries–from 5 Guys, another restaurant or frozen fries made at home. Another choice is to use frozen hashbrowns.
- Kosher salt
- Black pepper
- Onion powder
- Garlic powder
- Smoked paprika
- Sour cream
- Milk
- Cheddar
- Diced green chiles–I used mild
- Panko
- Butter
Steps
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Pulse the fries in a food processor or blender until coarsely chopped. Add to a mixing bowl.

Stir in the salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, sour cream, milk, half of the cheddar and green chiles.

Spread the mixture into a 9×9 inch baking dish.

Sprinkle the panko evenly on top. Drizzle with the melted butter. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
Bake for 30 minutes. Serve and enjoy!

Notes/Tips
- Serve as a side dish to any dinner such as ham, chicken or pork.
- I used my pyrex 8×8 inch baking dish*.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container* in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
