Today’s recipe is an easy beef and broccoli stir fry that is a quick 20-minute dinner made with tender strips of sirloin, crisp vegetables and a simple savory soy sauce.

Easy Beef Stir Fry Recipe
I love a dinner that is fast, colorful and satisfying! This beef and veggie stir fry fit the bill. It comes together quite quickly…only about 20 minutes. It is filling but doesn’t feel heavy. Greg and I enjoyed this meal a lot. You can switch up the protein and the veggies depending on what you have on hand. Try chicken and mushrooms instead of beef and broccoli. You can serve it alone or put it on a bed of rice. Enjoy!
Ingredients/Substitution Ideas
- Vegetable oil–or canola, avocado oil
- Beef sirloin–or flank steak, skirt steak, flat iron steak
- Broccoli florets–fresh is best, but thawed frozen broccoli can work in a pinch
- Red bell pepper–or use any color of bell pepper you have
- Carrot
- Garlic–fresh or jarred minced garlic
- Green onion
- Soy sauce–use low-sodium soy sauce if you’d like more control over the saltiness
- Sesame seeds–optional
Steps
Heat vegetable oil in a large wok or pan over medium-high heat. Add beef and stir-fry until browned, about 3 to 4 minutes.

Add broccoli, bell pepper, carrots to pan and stir-fry vegetables for 2 minutes.

Stir in the garlic, green onions, soy sauce and 1 Tbsp sesame seeds. Continue to cook and stir until vegetables are tender, about 2 more minutes. Serve and enjoy! Add more soy sauce, if needed

Notes/Tips
- Serve with white rice, brown rice, cauliflower or fried rice.
- Slice the beef thin (I bought a package that was already sliced up). Cutting against the grain helps to keep beef tender.
- Have everything ready to go before you start cooking. Stir fry cooks really fast, so chop the vegetables and measure the sauce before heating your pan.
- You can switch up the veggies. Try mushrooms, snap peas, zucchini, asparagus or cabbage.
- This recipe can be gluten free if you use gluten free soy sauce. This recipe is dairy free.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container* in the refrigerator for 4 days. Freeze leftover beef for up to 3 months.
