Instant Pot White Cheddar Macaroni
If you’re looking for an easy, fast macaroni and cheese recipe you’re in luck. This Instant Pot recipe for white cheddar macaroni is so fast and easy and so tasty. All you do is pour water, noodles, butter and salt and pepper into your Instant Pot and pressure cook for 4 minutes. Then you stir in cheese and milk and you’re done. It is really almost as easy as making macaroni and cheese from the box.
Where do I find white cheddar? I found some shredded white cheddar at my local Smiths (Kroger) in the cheese aisle. Usually I don’t like to buy pre-shredded cheese but the kind that I got was organic and had no cellulose in it. So it didn’t get clumpy and weird. Plus it was the store brand so it was a good price.
What else can I add? Try adding in some crumbled bacon or chopped artichokes. Another choice? Some cooked rotisserie chicken and steamed broccoli florets. Make it an entire meal!

Creamy white cheddar macaroni and cheese made fast and easy in your Instant Pot! No need to worry about a pot of water boiling over. Easy peasy.
Ingredients
- 2 cups water or broth
- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 3/4 tsp kosher salt
- 6 oz (1 1/2 cups) shredded white cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
- 1/3 cup milk
Instructions
- Pour water into Instant Pot. Sprinkle in the macaroni. Add in the butter, pepper and salt.
- Cover Instant Pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set the manual/pressure cook button to 4 minutes. When time is up let pot sit for 5 minutes and move valve to venting. remove lid.
- Stir in cheeses and milk.
- Serve and enjoy!
