Honeycomb Pasta–Rigatoni stuffed with cheese and topped with spaghetti sauce. Only 4 ingredients! Make TikTok’s viral pasta recipe with the help of your Instant Pot.

Honeycomb Pasta
This is a fun way to make pasta! Basically you stuff rigatoni with sliced up string cheese. Then you line up all your rigatoni in a springform pan and it looks like a honeycomb. Sauce is poured over the top and then it’s baked. You can remove the outer rim of the springform pan and see how cool it looks!

This recipe has gone viral on TikTok and I’ve included the original video below. My version is a bit different from the original, but it’s the same idea.

I used my Instant Pot to quickly boil my pasta noodles. I did end up baking the pasta in my oven because I wanted more of a baked pasta taste. But you can also try using the pot-in-pot method to cook the dish in your Instant Pot.

We all loved the taste of the cheese stuffed pasta. It was amazing! Skyler came home after his first day of football practice at 8 pm and took this down quick. He said “Mom! This is amazing!”
It does take a little bit of time to stuff the pasta and line it up perfectly in the pan. It’s not necessarily a fast and easy recipe but it does taste so good and only uses 4 ingredients! If you’re feeling fun and creative make this for dinner tonight!

Honeycomb Pasta
- Prep Time: 25 minutes
- Cook Time: 35 minutes
- Total Time: 1 hour
- Yield: 4–6 servings 1x
Description
Rigatoni stuffed with cheese and topped with spaghetti sauce. Make TikTok’s viral pasta recipe with the help of your Instant Pot.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 8 oz rigatoni pasta
- 4–8 string cheese sticks
- 1 (24 oz) can favorite pasta sauce
- 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Pour water into Instant Pot. Add in the pasta evenly and press to submerge. Cover Instant Pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set the manual/pressure cook button to 3 minutes. When time is up move valve to venting. If any foam comes out move back to sealing and wait 20 seconds before trying again.
- While pasta is cooking cut the cheese sticks into quarters lengthwise and into thirds cross wise.
- Pour the pasta and any remaining water into a colander and drain. Rinse with cold water.
- Pour ½ cup of the spaghetti sauce into the bottom of a 7-inch spring form pan.
- Stuff the rigatoni with a piece of the sliced string cheese. You can stuff all the rigatoni or about half of it. It’s up to you and how cheesy you want your dish. I stuffed about half but would stuff more next time.
- Line the entire pan with the rigatoni vertically. Start on the outside edge and move to the inner part of the pan. It will be tight but it should all fit.
- Pour the rest of the spaghetti sauce over the top of the pasta. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
- If baking in the oven, place the springform pan on top of another pan (so that it doesn’t leak). Place the pan in a 350° F oven. Bake for 35 minutes. You can also cook this in your Instant Pot using the pot-in-pot method. Pour 1 ½ cups water into the Instant Pot. Place the pan on top of a sling/trivet* and lower into the Instant Pot. Pressure cook on manual setting for 20 minutes. Let pot sit for 5 minutes and then move valve to venting. Remove the lid. Carefully remove the pan.
- Remove the outer rim of the pan. Slice and serve.

Followed directions as close as possible and yet when I took the ring off the entire thing fell apart. Don’t know what else I could have done to help it stand and adhere, but it just turned in to a bowl of rigatoni.

This looks amazing! Can’t wait to try it.
One question….you cook the noodles al dente first, then stuff with cheese and then cook again. Does this not over cook the pasta? I’m asking just in case I misread this as I don’t want to mess it up.
Thanks 🙂

Right. The first time you just boil the pasta…I did this step in the Instant Pot. It’s only 3 minutes so it’s not overcooked. Then you stuff it and bake it. It doesn’t get overcooked.
