Dedication Casserole

Dedication Casserole

Today’s recipe is my Instant Pot take on Joanna Gaines’ dedication casserole from her cookbook. It is such an easy weeknight meal. Dump the ingredients into the pot and press start. Stir it up and serve. Can’t get much easier than that. If you’re a fan of artichokes (like I am) then I think you’ll love this creamy rice dish.

Ingredients/Substitution Ideas

  • Water
  • Farmhouse or Ben’s Long Grain and Wild Rice with seasoning
  • Chopped, cooked rotisserie chicken–or you can use raw chicken that has been cut into bite size pieces
  • Artichoke hearts–canned or frozen
  • Tarragon
  • Garlic powder
  • Black pepper
  • Cream cheese
  • Sharp cheddar cheese

Steps

Pour water into Instant Pot. Sprinkle in the rice and seasonings. Add in the chicken, artichoke hearts, tarragon, garlic powder, pepper and cream cheese.

Cover Instant Pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set the manual/pressure cook button to 3 minutes. When time is up let pot sit for 5-10 minutes and then move valve to venting. Remove lid.

Stir. Add in the cheddar and stir. Serve and enjoy.

Notes/Tips

  • Serve with a green salad, green beans or roasted vegetables.
  • I used my 3 quart Instant Pot*. You can also make this in a 6 or 8 quart pot.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container* in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
  • Other recipes you can make with tarragon are tarragon mustard chicken and Slow Cooker Chicken Cordon Bleu Soup.
Did you know you can filter the recipes on my website to search by meat type, IP or Crockpot, low carb, gluten free, etc.? Use the filter to find exactly what you are looking for.

    Hi Karen
first thing I want to say is I love your recipes thank you so much for posting these.

What I would like to know is how to transfer this recipe from an instant pot to slow cooker (my parents don’t have an instant pot), what do I need to do? Thank you in advance 😁

I am looking forward to trying this but wondering about the rice. Ben’s is a 6 oz box, do you still use 2 as in the recipe? We don’t get Farmhouse in this area.
    Thank you!

Oh oops! I was thinking they were the same size of box. I guess it’s up to you if you’d like it more rice-y or if you want it more full of artichokes and chicken you can just use one box. Just use the correct amount of liquid as listed on the box.
