I’m headed to a family reunion today and these are what I’m bringing. A massive batch of monster cookies. I know this isn’t a slow cooker recipe but this is one of my favorite cookies (and cookie doughs) of ALL time. It does make A LOT though, so you may want to halve the recipe.
6 eggs
2 1/4 cups brown sugar
2 cups white sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 tsp Karo syrup
1/2 tsp salt
4 tsp soda
2 sticks of butter (at room temperature)
3 cups peanut butter
9 cups quick oats
1 (12 oz) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (12 oz) bag M&Ms (I used minis for this batch)
1. Add all ingredients to a super large bowl and mix until well combined.
2. Drop by spoonful onto a cookie sheet that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
3. Cook in a preheated oven at 350 for about 9-10 minutes (do not overcook!)
These cookies freeze well. Also, they are very addictive.

Karen,
……. Just. Wow.
I’m allergic to peanut butter and by allergic I mean intolerant and my husband pays the price later…
I made these cookies (a massive batch btw) a few months ago and have felt the yearning returning.
It won’t be long now and my husband will be paying the price again.
If I haven’t made myself clear, these are the best and easiest cookies I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating and baking.
You’re a national treasure, Karen. Please keep using your American freedom for good and holy things… even if these cookies feel like sin.
God bless!
Well this might be the best cookie review I’ve ever received! thank you! I’m thrilled you loved them so much, and I appreciate the very generous “national treasure” title 😄
Hi! Can’t wait to try these. I have everything on hand except the Karo. Can I leave it out or substitute? Thanks!
I would just leave it out or use honey or maple syrup in its place.
What kind of pean̈ut butter do you use? I only have natural PB with no salt or sugar just peanuts and have been told it n ot good for cookies or any other baking.
I bet you’re right. I just use Jif or Skippy.
These look delicious! The recipe calls for “4 tsp soda” I’m assuming it’s baking soda?
Thank you
yes, that’s right. that’s how my mom used to write recipes that calls for baking soda.
Love to try your recipe, but can’t stomach using karo syrup. Have you ever tried using another substitute? Thank you
I would just leave it out. The fact that it is only 1.5 teaspoons makes me wonder why it is even in the recipe in the first place.
Oh gosh, my mistake. Since it makes a large amount of cookie dough, I was thinking cups!! Sorry. Look forward to making these 😊
I have not made these. But if I am reading this correctly these are gluten free. I hope these are amazing. Wheat allergy is a horrible thing.
Yes, if you use certified gluten free oatmeal this is a gluten free recipe!
Have you ever tried old fashioned oats instead of the quick oats?
I have not. However you could probably use them but I would pulse them in a blender a few times to mimic the quick oats texture.
Thanks!
Best cookies, easiest recipe! I’m to the point where I’m making a batch of these every three or four weeks and freezing the portioned dough so I always have cookies on hand. Thank you!!
Yum! I love doing that.
Me love COOOOKIES!!!
A mister cookie with one bite out of it looks like a ‘C’.
Nmmm naam naam nammm!!!!!
me love cookies too!!! We are alike.
Hey Karen,
We used to make these as well… dropped by 1/4 or 1/3 cupfulls… they were 2 – 3 on a cookie sheet, and HUGE! TOO much fun!!
Hope they loved 'em!!
These are so yummy! And it is a great way to use up some of my old peanut butter. Thanks!
