Tortellini Lasagna

What a high scoring game!  Paige took these two recipes and tried them out.  Here is what she had to say, “The Tortellini Lasagna Casserole was a very easy recipe to make.  Not much more than putting all the
ingredients in the crock pot and turning it on.
My daughter said it was a little spicy but I didn’t think so.  I loved the fact it had spinach and mushrooms
in it.  My other daughter ate it before
realizing what they were.  My kids and
husband all said they would definitely have it again.  I would give it 4 ยฝ stars.”

Turkey Lasagna

“The Turkey Lasagna was the easiest, best lasagna I have made.  My husband doesn’t like lasagna so I donโ€™t
make it very often but he said he would 100% have this again. I couldn’t find
turkey sausage so I ended up using Italian seasoned ground turkey.  It tasted like sausage to me.  I had never used ground turkey before and
loved the taste.   I used cottage cheese instead of ricotta
because I think itโ€™s the ricotta my husband doesn’t like.  Mixing in the cottage cheese gave it texture
without an overpowering taste.  I loved
the red bell pepper.  It gave it a nice
fresh garden flavor.  I also made half of
it with regular noodles and half with wheat noodles.  We all liked the regular noodles better.  They held their form better and didn’t distract from the taste.   I give this dish
5 stars.”

Paige, I’m so glad you and your family enjoyed these two dishes!  It always makes me feel good to know that I had a part in your dinner success.

Next up the Whole Wheat Lasagna versus the Tomato Mac.

Whole Wheat Lasagna

Larilyn said, “You know something’s good when your husband keeps eating more and more of it.  That’s how the whole wheat lasagna was.  And what was great is I don’t think he even realized the small, healthy touches that were put in.  This was so good (though in the future, I might try making it with plain ground beef.  I personally am not a HUGE fan of Italian sausage) and it was so filling.  Whole wheat anything really has that benefit.”

Tomato Mac

“The tomato mac was very tasty, and thanks to the whole wheat noodles it was very filling!  The recipe suggests topping with fresh tomatoes, but my husband wasn’t a huge fan of that, so I would suggest that you try a bite with the fresh tomato before adding it to your serving.  I marked it down a little in value simply because there is so much cheese in it…which, you can get on sale and it would be a great value!  However, if you are going out to buy the ingredients to make it on a whim, it could get a little more expensive.”

So the Whole Wheat Lasagna will be up against the Turkey Lasagna next round.  Should be very comparable.
