Little Caesars Crazy Bread
There is something about freshly baked bread, breadsticks or rolls that is so magical. Soup and warm breadsticks are my favorite fall meal. Homemade Little Caesars crazy bread is worth any time that it takes to make. I told Greg, “I can’t stop eating these!!” I ate about 4 right in a row.
The cool thing about this recipe is that you plop the risen dough onto the baking sheet and you use the palms of your hand to press it out into a rectangle. No need for a rolling pin. You don’t have to roll the dough into breadsticks…just use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into 1 inch wide breadsticks. The bread cooks and comes out like pull-apart breadsticks.
I started my crazy bread and then while it was proofing I started making stuffed pepper soup (recipe coming soon). It was perfect because the bread and the soup finished at the exact same time!
The sauce tastes just like Little Caesars sauce. It is super easy to whip up and fun to dip your breadsticks in. Of course the sauce is completely optional.

Description
Make copy cat Little Caesars Crazy Bread at home with a little help from your Instant Pot. These breadsticks are so addicting! I dare you to eat just one.
Ingredients
For the bread:
- 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast (aka rapid- or quick-rise yeast)
- 1 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 Tbsp white sugar
- 1 Tbsp oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 cups flour
- 3 Tbsp melted butter
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 cup powdered parmesan cheese
For the sauce:
- 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 1/8 tsp garlic powder
- 1/8 tsp basil
- 1/8 tsp marjoram
- 1/8 tsp oregano
- 1/8 tsp thyme
Instructions
- Add yeast, water and sugar into the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook. Let the yeast dissolve for a minute. Add oil, salt and flour into the bowl.
- Turn mixer on and knead the dough for 5 minutes. The dough should be a little sticky. If it is overly sticky then add in a bit more flour.
- Spray your Instant Pot with non-stick cooking spray. Add the dough into the liner. Set Instant Pot to yogurt function LESS (use adjust button to get it to less, it should say 24 hours). Cover Instant Pot with a glass lid or a plate and let it raise for 25-30 minutes.
- Turn the dough onto a parchment or silpat lined baking sheet. Use palms to press the dough out into a large rectangle. Use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into 1 inch wide breadsticks.
- Turn oven to 400° F. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
- Bake for 15 minutes. Stir the melted butter and garlic powder together. Once the breadsticks are baked, brush the melted butter all over the breadsticks. Then sprinkle with the parmesan cheese.
- Stir all the sauce ingredients together. Dip breadsticks into sauce and enjoy!
Notes
I used my 6 quart Instant Pot Duo 60 7 in 1*.

- Method: Instant Pot/Oven
Everyone always asks me what type of mixer I have. It’s an old Bosch mixer that is probably 25-30 years old! It still works great and I use it all the time for cookies and breads.

Sherna Ward says
can i use frozen bread dough and cook in oven
Karen says
Yep!
Rowena Tebaldi says
I did everything except the proofing in an instapot. The dough was very sticky so I added perhaps w tbsp flour. My problem was…. the bottom part was hard and looks like I have at least .5cm worth of flat dough. The rest of the bread was soft and fluffy except the bottom part. I baked it for 15 minutes. Should I have baked it for 2 more minutes? The top was already turning brown so I turn off the oven at 15 minutes.
What could have I done wrong. I preheat the oven to 400 and rested the dough for 10 minutes.
Please advice. Thanks

Pay attention

Trying this tonight! I don’t have a mixer though.. How long should I mix for? Should I hand mix or knead the dough?
Karen says
I would knead by hand for about 5 minutes.
Deb Snell says
Hi, the recipe looks delicious! I have one question, should you use bread flour or all purpose flour?
Karen says
I used all purpose flour!
Jaimie says
Can this also be used as a pizza crust? In the past I have bought actual dough balls from little caesars and I have made the crazy bread and pizza from the same dough.
Karen says
Oh yeah, I bet you could totally do that!
Nicole says
I actually went there one day because we grabbed pizza. Decided to ask them if the same dough was used to make there crust was also used to make their crazy bread, the answer was YES!!!
Liz P says
What if I don’t have parchment paper or that other option you mentioned? Can I use aluminum foil? Or nothing on the cooking sheet??
Karen says
You could just spray it with non stick cooking spray and it should be fine.
Laura says
If I only had traditional active dry yeast and not the quick rise one, would I still use the same amount?
Karen says
Same amount!
Toni says
same amount, but let it bloom before adding the flour
Larry Gaines says
Will most definitely try this
Karen says
I think you’ll love them Larry!
Dee says
Hi Karen,
Love your recipes. I don’t have a mixer with a dough hook and my IP doesn’t have a yogurt setting. I was determined to be able to make these breadsticks so I used my bread machine and the dough cycle. The dough was a little wet so just sprayed my hands with Pam to
spread the dough. Let it rest and baked. Came out great.
Karen says
Yay! glad it worked. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Maria says
Did you use bleached or unbleached flour?
Karen says
I used unbleached. But you can use either.
Carlos says
My mixer broke. Has anyone tried hand kneading this? How long did it take?
Elie Q says
This is so good! All the kids gave it a thumbs up. The bread didn’t last 20 minutes after it was out of the oven. Thank you for sharing the recipe 😊
Karen says
I totally agree with this! I could eat 5 in one sitting.
Laura Warren says
Made this last night–it was amazing!!! Using the Yogurt feature really worked!!
Karen says
It really is so good, right?! I want to make it again but can’t yet because I know I won’t be able to stop eating them all.
Maggie Sewell says
Could you use this for a thick crust pizza ?
Karen says
I bet you could and it would be super tasty!
Melinda says
What’s the approximate size of the large rectangle of dough that’s pressed out on the parchment paper? Thanks!
Karen says
About 11 x 17 inches
Pat says
Can I use gluten free flour for this?
Karen says
I wouldn’t. I would find a gluten free breadstick recipe online. I know gluten free is very fussy with baking. I would try a site that specializes in gluten free baking.
Monica Tro says
You are only using the Instant Pot to make the dough rise. I can do that on my counter.
Karen says
Yes you sure can. It will take about 60 minutes on the counter. The IP just helps speed up that process.
Judy says
It’s a fantastic technique & it works great for those of us who like to keep our homes a little cooler than most. Rising dough can be finicky & it loves to be warm. Before reading this I used my oven (preheated to lowest temp, then turned off) & put the oiled dough in an oiled bowl covered with a damp towel for 45-60 minutes. While the oven way works well, it ties up the oven for an hour while the dough proofs. It saves a ton of time, imagine how much you can get done in 30 minutes.
Caitlin says
Oh my gosh, I’m drooling. Can’t wait to make!
Is the marjoram really important for getting the whole “crazy sauce” flavour right? I don’t have any and have had a hard time finding it before.
Karen says
I bet it will be fine without it. You could also probably just use Italian seasoning.
Helen says
Hey Karen! Here’s a challenge for you! lol
I like the crazy bread but I like their Italian cheese bread soooo much better. Can you figure that out?
Karen says
Oh, yum! I don’t think I’ve had that. I’ll have to try it!
KW says
I used to work there so I can tell you for the most part it’s basically the same recipe, just shredded cheese before you bake it and italian seasoning + salt and parm on top. Garlic butter in the pan before placing the dough. (I think the seasoning has a little sugar too based on how it tastes. The seasoning is premixed. Though in a pinch we’d use the sauce seasoning mix cuz it’s similar.)
Helen says
Yup. That I had figured out. The secret is what’s in the seasoning and the proportions. Lol
Jeni says
OMG! I love crazy bread and can’t wait to make these! Will report back!
Karen says
Hope you like it as much as we did!
Jeni says
The breadsticks turned out amazing! This was my first time using my instant pot to proof, wow, that was easy! I’ll be trying that again. Thanks for a fantastic recipe!
Karen says
Yay! So glad to hear it Jeni!
princess says
My instant pot does not have yogurt function, am I still able to do this in instant pot?
Karen says
Yes, just raise the dough in the mixing bowl on the counter for an hour instead of in the IP.
Heather says
Does the garlic powder for the bread go on the melted butter or in the dough? Thanks!
Karen says
I just fixed that! It goes in with the melted butter and then is spread on the baked breadsticks.
Judy says
Do you mix the garlic powder and cheese together and sprinkle on the bread after baking?
Karen says
I mixed the garlic powder in with the melted butter and then used a pastry brush to spread it on the baked breadsticks.
