Instant Pot Peanut Noodles–sweet and spicy peanut noodles ready in only a few minutes with your Instant Pot! An easy dump and go recipe.

Instant Pot Peanut Noodles
This is a fast, dump and go dinner that is meatless and uses fairly common ingredients. Peanut noodles are so satisfying with their creamy peanut butter/soy sauce/sriracha sauce. My version has just a little kick but if you are a fan of spice you can always add more sriracha sauce into the peanut sauce.
Can I add chicken to this recipe? Yes you can! Cut up a pound of boneless, skinless thighs or breasts into bite size pieces. Add the chicken into the pot with the broth. You can also add in cooked rotisserie chicken after the noodles have been pressure cooked.
What kind of noodles can I use? I used thin whole wheat spaghetti and used a 4 minute pressure cook time with a 5 minute natural pressure release. You can use other types of pasta, if you’d like. The cooking time will depend on the type of pasta. I generally take the number on the back of the package, divide by 2 and subtract 1 minute. So if it says to boil for 10 minutes it would be 4 minutes pressure cook time (10/2 = 5 – 1 = 4 minutes). I haven’t tried this recipe with rice noodles since I find that they get ultra mushy in the Instant Pot. If you’d like rice noodles I would suggest just making this recipe on the stove. Boil the noodles, drain with a colander, stir in the peanut sauce and serve.
Why criss-cross the noodles? I find that noodles like spaghetti, fettucine and linguine pasta get clumped up in the Instant Pot. By placing them in a criss-cross pattern this seems to help that issue.

What should I serve with Instant Pot peanut noodles? Roasted broccoli or stir fried veggies taste great with this recipe.
What Instant Pot size can I use? I used a 3 quart pot but a 6 or 8 quart pot can also be used with no changes to the recipe.
Can I double this recipe? Yes, double all ingredients and keep the same cooking time.
Can I halve this recipe? Yes you can. If you’re making in a 3 quart pot halve all ingredients and keep same cooking time.

Instant Pot Peanut Noodles
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 4 minutes (plus 5 minute NPR)
- Total Time: 14 minutes
- Yield: 4–6 servings 1x
Description
Sweet and spicy peanut noodles ready in only a few minutes with your Instant Pot!
Ingredients
- 2 cups water or broth
- 8 oz spaghetti noodles (or other type of noodles)
- 1/2 cup crunchy or creamy peanut butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp minced gingerroot
- 3 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp sriracha sauce
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 3 Tbsp honey (or brown sugar)
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- Garnishes: sesame seeds, chopped peanuts, green onions
Instructions
- Add water or broth into Instant Pot. Break spaghetti noodles in half and lay them in a criss cross pattern in the Instant Pot.
- In a bowl whisk together the peanut butter, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sriracha, lemon juice, honey and sesame oil. Pour the mixture over the top of the spaghetti.
- Cover Instant Pot and secure the lid. Set the manual/pressure cook button to 4 minutes. When time is let pot sit for 5 minutes and then move valve to venting. Remove the lid.
- Stir well. If the sauce needs to be loosened up add a bit of water into the pot and stir well (I ended up adding in about ½ cup water).
- Garnish with sesame seeds, green onions and chopped peanuts. Eat and enjoy!
Notes
If you’d like to add chicken to this dish you can! Just cup up chicken breasts or thighs into bite size pieces and place into the pot with the water/broth. Use the same cooking time (4 minutes) as listed in recipe. The bite size pieces cook very quickly.
I used my 3 quart Instant Pot but you can also use a 6 or 8 quart pot.

These Peanut Noodles were fantastic. Yet another ummmazing dinner thanks to Karen and my Instant Pot. It is anything but a bore to keep adding your restaurant worthy dishes to my recipe file, and gosh Karen, thank you so so much. The flavors of this dish are incredible, and with just the right amount of spice. For the half recipe that I made, I used low sodium Chicken broth, and also 1/2 pound of cubed raw chicken thigh meat. I actually used 1 1/2 cups of the broth for the half recipe. As I did with my last Instant Pot pasta dish that I reviewed, I actually made the dish an hour before eating. I used natural release the whole time, and had the keep warm function engaged. Obviously the Instant Pot is so easy to prepare flavor filled meals in, but I’m also having raving success with the “keep warm” feature. So far, I’ve not noted a change in quality whatsoever. Having food piping hot and waiting for you, is so much fun.

It really is so satisfying to have that food waiting for you! I love it! Thanks for another super nice and thorough review, Jeff!
After 10 min the noodles are al dente. What am I missing?
Spaghetti noodles were used

Really? Interesting. I am not sure. My spaghetti always gets done within 5 minutes. Did the pot reach pressure?
Could I add broccoli to this recipe?
Yes, but I would add it in later so that it doesn’t overcook. I would steam it separately.
If I cut this recipe in half do I still need the same amount of water?
You’d cut liquid in half as well https://www.365daysofcrockpot.com/how-to-halve-instant-pot-recipes/
This recipe was yummy. I used brown sugar instead of honey . The only extra thing I did was add a little bit of olive oil.

Sounds great! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
I haven’t tried this yet, but looks amazing. My daughter makes a version but not sure if it’s the same.
One thing. I bought your cook book and love it. However, I notice that this and many other recipes are not in it. Would it be possible when you post or email new recipes to indicate whether or not it’s in the book. That way I wouldn’t miss it if I don’t print it out and keep on my computer.
Also, is there an index for the book that is sorted by the type of ingredient? Say, chicken, beef, pork, fish, pasta, etc.
Thanks for all the great recipes.
Kim
I will try to do that on future emails Kim! Anything dated on my website after august 2020 is not in the book. And I don’t have an index like that. Although the table of contents at the beginning of the book has the recipes listed like that.
I left the honey out and it was still amazing. I subbed the noodles for coarsely shredded cabbage, and boom, it was keto. Just set the timer to zero (yes, zero!) And quick release the steam after it comes to pressure. It will be perfectly al dente!
Thanks for the recipe, it was great!

BRILLIANT!! love this idea.
I like it when your recipes include the 3-qt instant pot and whether or not the recipe needs to be adapted. As a single person I appreciate not having to lots of adapting to a recipe!
I’ll try to do better at adding this info. Lately I’ve been using the 3 quart a lot! It comes to pressure so much faster.
Amazing. I used linguine noodles so had to add extra minute. Thank you for this delicious recipe!

Thanks so much for the 5 stars Karen! I’m so glad you liked it!
Karen, I’m really watching my calorie intake. I don’t see the Nutritional Values on some of your recipes. Is it because they come from other authors and the info is not avail?
Thanks, I love all your recipes, thanks.

Oops forgot to add that in to this recipe. I just corrected that. I usually try to add it into all new recipes some of my older recipes don’t have the info.
Any suggestions for a peanut butter substitute for someone that cant eat nuts?
I used to love making peanut butter pasta with chili sauce but my wife cant eat peanuts anymore
Love the idea of this recipe so wondering if anyone knows a decent substitute to use instead but still keeps the recipe tasty
Thanks!
I just googled this question and there are tons of alternatives.
SunButter is a good alternative to peanut butter.
Tahini is ground sesame seeds without the “shell.” That’s it. Depending on the brand it may be very thick, or a bit thinner than peanut butter.
Sad day. PB is my fave. So no almond butter? I don’t know of a similar consistency that you’d get with another product.
Actually been using almond butter successfully since writing this. Researched and found it is a tree nut vs peanuts and everything has worked out perfectly! Thank you for another great recipe
(No thanks to those needless comments from others)
