Review:
I’m not sure what the difference is between pork steaks and pork chops (anyone know?). I followed the recipe except I left out the Accent…because I’m not sure what it is. Some sore of seasoning? They steaks turned out great. We served them with baked potatoes and salad. I give this recipe 4 stars.
Pork steak is sliced pork butt, about 3/4 to an inch thick. For St. Louis style, grill me on high to sear, cut the air on the fire, slow cook them for an hour. Throw me in a crock pot with Maull's BBQ sauce and let them simmer for a few hours. Fall off the bone tender and juicy.
Had this for dinner. Family loved it. Next time I would cut down on the water(sauce was to runny).Yes the meat just fell apart! I also left out the 2 tsp salt, with all the salt in the other ingredients you don’t need it.
Hi! I just stumbled on your blog through another blog… love it!!
FYI: pork steaks are marbled with fat just like a juicy beef steak is, while a pork chop is not marbled, but has that layer of fat that goes all the way around. So, pork steaks are fattier, juicier and more tender than pork chops…
Accent is MSG, pure and simple, so completely unnecessary.
I can’t wait to try this recipe!
