Makes 6 servings

1 Flavorseal Fireside Chili Slow Cooker Liner (this product is no longer available)
1 lb of roast (chunk or cross rib work best)
1/2 lb cooked ground beef
1 1/3 cup dried pinto beans, rinsed and sorted
1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
2 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
2 cups water
Plenty of Salt and Pepper to taste

1. ย Soak the pinto beans in plenty of water overnight or do the quick soak method. ย Drain water from beans.
2. ย Unfold liner and place into slow cooker, gently pushing sides sot hat liner is evenly spread out. ย Fold unseasoned side of the bag over slow cooker edges to hold it in place.
3. ย Add beans, roast, ground beef, tomatoes, tomato sauce and water. ย Stir and ensure that all seasoned portions of the liner areย moistened.
4. ย Cover and cook on LOW for about 7-9 hours. ย Roast should be very tender. ย Remove roast and shred and add back in.
5. ย Stir the chili several times and salt and pepper to taste. ย Serve with your favorite condiments.

Review:
I think that these seasoned slow cookersย linersย are a grand idea. ย They are perfect for those working moms that have limited time in the morning to get everything in the slow cooker. ย Plus the clean-up is a cinch! ย I have to say after using them for several recipes I think they are best if you are doing a large batch of something. ย The liners are very large and work well for a 6-7 quart slow cooker. ย This chili was ultra meaty with the 2 types of beef. ย My husband loved it, of course. ย You could of course use 2 cans of pinto beans instead…cut down on the water by half. ย 3 1/2 stars.

I have never heard of these before. Can you buy them at the grocery store? I did go to the Flavorseal website, is that the only place to buy them. I am super curious.

Hi wifemother โ€“ Iโ€™m from Flavorseal (the maker of the slow cooker liners). Karen wasnโ€™t paid for her review. All we asked was for her honest opinion, and we were overjoyed that she liked them.

Our products fill a need for people who donโ€™t always have time to cook from scratch, but we recognize that they arenโ€™t for everyone. If you would like more information about our products and how they are made, I would be happy to provide it.

OH my. As much as I love my slowcooker, I think that I would never ever eat from it if told it was in a plastic bag that had been 'seasoned' in a factory somewhere…..never ever… I know its probably a paid review, but doesn't it make you uncomfortable? a little?
