Review:
Love this spiced, hot drink this time of year. My mom used to do this recipe on the stovetop. In the crockpot, it makes it a little safer if you're not going to be home all day. 3 stars

Obviously, this is not something you would make everyday. But it is fun around the holidays to sip a hot drink and be all cozy. I liked it, it reminded me of wassail. 3 stars.

Pin It Serves 6

3/4 cup non-fat dried powdered milk
4 3/4 cups hot water
4 3/4 Tbsp cocoa
4 3/4 Tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt

Combine powdered milk, cocoa sugar, and salt in slow cooker. Use wire wisk to stir ingredients and get any lumps out. Pour in hot water and stir. Cover and turn on low for 1-2 hours. Turn to warm and serve.

Review:
When I was growing up my mom would always make us hot chocolate and toast in the winter. I loved it so much. When it's cold outside it tastes so good. This is a great recipe, using your powdered milk from food storage and it tastes great. Makes a comfy and cozy Saturday morning. If you want to plan ahead you could mix all the dry ingredients together and store in a tupperware container and use instead of hot chocolate packets. 4 stars.

Day 191: Homestyle Tomato Juice

Makes 4-5 1 cup servings
10-12 large tomatoes
1 tsp salt
1 tsp seasoned salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 Tbsp sugar
Wash and drain tomatoes. Remove cores and blossom ends. Place in slow cooker. Cover and cook on Low 4-6 hours, or until tomatoes are soft. Place in blender and liquify. Stir in seasoning and chill.
Review:
This is a great recipe if you have fresh tomatoes from your garden. It was a very thick juice and was almost like a chilled tomato soup. I loved it. But I love tomato soup, tomatoes, tomato juice, etc. If you wanted to cut down on the salt content, you could easily do so and it would still taste good. 4 stars.
