Slow Cooker Recipe for Coconut-Nutella Lava Cake

Slow Cooker Recipe for Coconut Nutella Lava Cake #crockpot #slowcooker #dessert #nutella

Slow Cooker Nutella-Coconut Pudding Cake
Makes 4-6 servings

1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup powdered sugar
3/4 tsp baking powder
1 1/3 cup coconut milk (divided)
1 Tbsp oil
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup shredded coconut (plus more for serving)
1/4 cup Nutella
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup white sugar
Vanilla ice cream, for serving

1.  In a medium bowl, combine flour, powdered sugar, baking powder, 1/3 cup coconut milk, oil, vanilla and 1/4 cup coconut.  Whisk until smooth and then stir in Nutella.
2.  Pour batter into a greased slow cooker (3 quart works well).
3.  Mix sugar and cocoa powder together and sprinkle on top of batter in slow cooker.
4.  Bring 1 cup of coconut milk to boil and pour over the batter in the slow cooker.  (Do not stir)
5.  Cover and cook on HIGH for 1 1/2 to 3 hours (depending how hot your slow cooker cooks and how big of a slow cooker you use)
6.  Scoop out cake into individual bowls and drizzle with the chocolate sauce.  Top with additional coconut, if desired.  Serve with vanilla ice cream.

Review:
Fact:  Anything with Nutella is awesome.
Need I say more?
This cake is decadent, delicious and perfect with vanilla ice cream.  Or better yet, with coconut ice cream.  That would be awesome.
5 stars.  Double it, if you're having company.

  1. I'm not a fan of coconut. What should we replace the coconut milk with if we omit the coconut ingredients? This looks so good otherwise!

  2. you could replace the 1/3 cup of coconut milk with regular milk and then the boiling coconut milk you could replace with just plain water or if you want it more creamy with regular milk. good luck!

  5. This looks amazing! I am going to make it next weekend for a Christmas party we're throwing with a bunch of friends.

I have one question though. I didn't see the chocolate sauce in the ingredient list. Did you just use a bottled chocolate sauce or did you make your own?

Thanks so much, I can't wait to try it!!

  6. Hi Jasmine,
Sorry for the confusion. The chocolate sauce that I was referring to forms underneath the cake. It's made of the cocoa and sugar and coconut milk! It is so delish. You will love it. It's kind of like lava cake.

  8. Julie, you can make it in the oven. 350 for about 35-40 minutes!

  9. Did I miss an ingriedient, is there suppose to be pudding in here somewhere. It's in the title so Iwanted to make sure.

  10. Patti,
no there's not pudding. Once cooked there is cake and saucy (pudding like consistency) on the bottom and that's why I call it pudding cake. I guess I should probably change the title to nutella lava cake or something! :)
