Description

Seasoned ground beef, mushrooms and onions with monterey jack cheese. An easy Instant Pot deconstructed version of the steakhouse favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 cup sliced or diced onion
  • 1/4 cup broth
  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tsp Lawry’s seasoned salt
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Dash of liquid smoke
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 3/4 cup shredded monterey jack cheese

Instructions

  1. Turn Instant Pot to saute setting. When display says HOT add in the ground beef and break it up. Add in the onions. Brown the beef for about 5 minutes. Drain off excess grease.
  2. Pour in the broth and scrape bottom of pot so that nothing is sticking. Turn off Instant Pot.
  3. Dump in the mushrooms. Dump in the seasoned salt, Worcestershire, liquid smoke, pepper and butter.
  4. Cover Instant Pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set the manual/pressure cook button to 3 minutes. When time is up move valve to venting and remove the lid.
  5. Stir in the cheese.
  6. Scoop onto plates and serve. We like to serve over toast or mashed potatoes.
