Description
Hamburger gravy with buttery toasted bread cubes baked together.
Ingredients

- 1/2 pound 85/15 ground beef
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 5 slices white bread, cut into cubes
- 2 Tbsp melted butter
Instructions
- Heat oven to 375° F. Heat a pan over medium high heat. Add in the ground beef and break it up. Stir in the salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. Brown the beef for about 5 minutes.
- Stir in 2 Tbsp of butter until melted. Then slowly whisk in the flour. Whisk for one minute.
- Slowly whisk in the milk for about 2 minutes until the mixture thickens like gravy. Remove from the heat.
- Scrape the gravy into a square baking dish (8×8 or 9×9). Evenly add the bread cubes on top and then drizzle the bread with the melted butter.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Serve immediately.
