Salt and Pepper
Browned lean ground beef (if desired)

Review:
I have been loving my Bountiful Baskets lately. I feel like it’s summer! Fresh tomatoes and corn on the cob today. And last week I got a watermelon! I decided to use my fresh tomatoes to make a pasta sauce. It turned out absolutely perfect, although it was fairly simple with few ingredients. My husband had to add meat at the end (of course) but I probably would have preferred it without. 4 stars.
What if you are using cherry tomatoes. Do you have an equivalency for 4 large tomatoes in a cup measurement?
You can just kind of guess. It doesn’t need to be exact.
Kodi, hopefully it worked out for you!!
I probably spent the better part of two hours of my morning looking for a recipe that i could use, once i came across this one it was exactly what i was looking for. Thank you sooo much! im sort of new the the cooking fresh/from scratch experience but im very glad ive done this sauce. it makes me feel better knowing exactly what im putting in it and it tastes great! thank you!
Urdowe,
Sometimes when people make chicken wings they put them under the broiler for a few minutes after they've cooked in the crockpot. This will ensure that they get a little crispy. Liquid is a common issue with the slow cooker since nothing evaporates or reduces. Here is a post I made about it! Hope this helps. http://www.365daysofcrockpot.com/2012/05/kitchen-tip-tuesday-solving-watered.html
Hi, I have a question. Some time ago I bought a crock pot. I would love for him to cook dinner, unfortunately, everything so far has always been done in a sauce of nowhere. Recently I wanted to make this recipe (http://www.bestcrockpotrecipes.net/Crockpot-Recipes/crockpot-appetizer-recipes/chicken-wings-appetizer-recipe.php#.URiXn6VWySo) but my wings were boiling and did not crisp and delicious as the picture. Is it normal that always appears during the cooking water? How to avoid this?
Marieke,
you could probably put it in raw but make sure it is super duper lean meat. or else it will get really greasy!
Could I put the raw meat in with the sauce to cook or does it have to be cooked before it goes in? I'd like to do it all together if possible
Is it possible to cook the meat in the slowcooker with the sauce or does it have to be added at the end?
This was great! We left out the ground beef and it was still really flavorful.
Doubling up on this recipe next time. We had this after a baseball game with some toasted garlic bread and they we begging for more!
I love your blog! Your recipes are really delicious! Keep blogging.
I visit your blog all the time. And I don't comment. Which is like phoning someone and hanging up when they answer. So, thanks for all of the lovely recipes! Sorry about the hangups…
