Description
Savory sausage and mushroom gravy with cheddar cheese and chopped hard-boiled eggs spooned over English muffins or toast.

- 1/2 pound ground breakfast sausage
- 4 ounces sliced mushrooms
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 2 Tbsp flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- Dash of nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 hard boiled eggs, chopped
- English muffins, biscuits or toast, for serving
Instructions
- Heat a pan over medium high heat. Add in the sausage and break it up. Brown. Add in the mushrooms and cook until browned.
- Turn heat down to medium. Make a space in the middle of the pan and add in the butter and let it melt. Slowly whisk in the flour. Slowly stir in the milk and little at a time. Stir until it thickens. Stir in the nutmeg, salt, pepper, Worcestershire, cheese and eggs. Once well combined and cheese is melted turn off the heat.
