Description

A breakfast casserole perfect for Christmas morning. With sausage, eggs and biscuits this is a great refueling breakfast after burning the midnight oil getting ready for Christmas morning. 


Ingredients

  • 1 (12 oz) package Pillsbury Grands! Original Crescent Rolls
  • 1/2 pound (or more if you like it meaty) ground breakfast sausage
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
  2. Flatten and press the crescent roll dough into the bottom of the greased dish.
  3. In a medium pan over medium high heat cook the breakfast sausage. Drain excess grease. Top the dough with the cooked sausage. Sprinkle the cheese on top.
  4. In a bowl whisk together the eggs, milk, salt and pepper. Evenly pour over the top of the ingredients in the baking dish.
  5. Bake for 30-40 minutes for a metal dark pan, 35-40 for a light metal pan or 40-50 minutes for a glass pan. Center should be puffed up and the eggs set.

Notes

Try adding in sliced green onions, chopped bell peppers, chopped mushrooms or another vegetable of your choice.
