Oh so close peach crisp but unfortunately the cashew chicken advances to the Elite 8! Stacey was the lucky one to be at this game. Stacey, what do you have for us?

Peach Crisp:
Super easy to put together, especially using frozen peaches…I just threw them in frozen. I was able to make this after dinner and we had dessert before going to bed. I am excited to make it again using fresh peaches…I am sure that would add a little more flavor. This was so tasty! My kids were literally licking their plates clean. My baby even through a fit when he realized that it was gone. All that I had to buy were peaches ($3.00) making it about $.50 per person.

Cashew Chicken:
This takes a little more effort to put together because you have to brown the chicken before adding it to the slow cooker and it only takes 4 hours on low to cook – so no putting it in before work in the morning. I used chicken breasts instead of thighs because that is what I had on hand and they worked great. I will definitely make this again. It had great flavor…different than your traditional slow cooker chicken meal. My kids all loved it…each asked for seconds. And I loved it because it is pretty healthy…no creamy sauces and gravy like so many other slow cooker meals. I had most of the ingredients on hand. It was probably about $2.00 per person which is a great value for the main course.
I was really rooting for Peach Crisp, it was the ONLY recipe that I needed 1 ingredient; peaches. Everything else I had on hand, which is pretty sad.
So I'm a little sad it lost. 🙁
I can't wait to make it. Get canned peaches soon, yum!
