Final Score:
Chicken Lasagna 87 Cordon Bleu 92

Karen was at this game.  It looks like it was pretty close.  How did it go, Karen?

It was a close race but the Chicken Cordon Bleu was the winner in this group. Ease in preparation, taste and cost were the reason. Slow cooking is all about easy and tasty for us and I think the Chicken Cordon Bleu hits it right on the head.
Cordon Bleu:
Very easy to assemble ingredients and they are readily available. I had everything but the ham and Swiss cheese in my house already. I would definitely make this recipe again. It turns out really nice and elegant but time spent getting everything ready and cooking was minimal.  It was much easier than traditional cordon bleu because I wasnโ€™t having to stuff each breast. I liked the combo of the cream of chicken soup and Alfredo together with the Swiss cheese, onion and garlic.  The taste was really good but the texture wasnโ€™t as think as it looked in the recipeโ€™s photograph even when I turned off the heat and let it set for about 10 minutes. Cost worked out to be about $3.25 per serving.  Much more economical than this same meal out.
Chicken Lasagna:
Lots more ingredients to this recipe. Also, had to precook several items. There werenโ€™t too many โ€œspecialโ€ ingredients other than the red pepper and wheat lasagna noodles. I had some frozen chicken tenders that I was able to use in this meal as well as spaghetti sauce, mushrooms and noodles. I did like the flavor and I can see the flexibility in being able to use chicken, ground beef or even Italian sausage. The price was pretty similar per servingโ€ฆ.about $3.50 and it made quite a few more servings than the cordon bleu.  I loved the addition of the cream cheese into the red sauceโ€ฆ made it very rich and tasty.  I was a bit worried the noodles wouldnโ€™t soften during the cooking time but they turned out fine.
So the Chicken Cordon Bleu survives another round.  Can it keep winning?!  I can’t wait to see who it goes against in the next round.
