1 small onion, cut into thick slices
2 cornish game hens, thawed, skin removed and patted dry
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp lemon pepper
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp dried basil
Place onion slices in bottom of slow cooker. Mix the garlic, lemon pepper, salt and basil together. Rub all over the hens. Place hens on top of onion slices (breast side down). Cover and cook on LOW for about 4 hours. Discard onions and serve. Makes 4 servings.
Review:
Never ever had a cornish game hen before. I saw them sitting in the grocery store and was interested to see how they would taste and if they would work in the slow cooker. They are the perfect size for your slow cooker. I made just one and Greg’s complaint was that there wasn’t enough meat on them. They’re just so perfect and cute though aren’t they? The flavoring on them was perfect. I love the lemon pepper and garlic combo. Delish. 3 1/2 stars
Do you have a recipe for bone broth or just broth in an IP made with stewing hens?
I don’t! Sorry Verna!
