Description

Seasoned ground beef, cheddar cheese, pickles and a tangy mustard sauce for a quick family dinner that tastes like a cross between a loose meat sandwich and a cheeseburger slider.


Ingredients

  • 16 oz lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/3 cup yellow mustard
  • 1/8 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp pickle juice
  • 1 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp hot sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 oz shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup chopped dill pickles

Instructions

Slow Cooker Instructions:

  1. Heat a pan over medium high heat. Add in the beef and break it up. Add in the onion. Cook for about 5 minutes, until meat is no longer pink. Drain off excess grease. Transfer to the slow cooker.
  2. Stir in the salt, mustard, brown sugar, pickle juice, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, hot sauce and water and stir.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours. 
  4. Stir again. Stir in the cheese and pickles.
  5. Serve on slider buns or on mashed potatoes or plain.

Stove Instructions:

  1. Heat a pan over medium high heat. Add in the beef and break it up. Add in the onion. Cook for about 5 minutes, until meat is no longer pink. Drain off excess grease. 
  2. Stir in the salt, mustard, brown sugar, pickle juice, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, hot sauce and water and stir.
  3. Cover pan and reduce heat to low. Cook for 20 minutes. 
  4. Stir again. Stir in the cheese and pickles.
  5. Serve on slider buns or on mashed potatoes or plain.
