Description
Everyone’s favorite cheesy potato casserole with the addition of sausage! Makes a hearty side dish or a main dish.

- 16 oz Jimmy Dean sausage
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 30 oz bag frozen hashbrowns
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 Tbsp melted butter
- 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
- 10 oz shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350° F.
- Heat a skillet over medium high heat. Add in the sausage and break it up. Add in the onions. Brown for about 5 minutes, until cooked through. Set aside.
- In a large bowl add the hashbrowns, salt, pepper, garlic powder, sour cream, butter, cream of chicken soup and half of the cheese. Stir in the sausage.
- Spray a 9×13 inch pan with non-stick cooking spray. Add the hashbrown mixture into the pan. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
