Description

Everyone’s favorite cheesy potato casserole with the addition of sausage! Makes a hearty side dish or a main dish. 


Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz Jimmy Dean sausage
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 30 oz bag frozen hashbrowns
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp melted butter
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • 10 oz shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350° F. 
  2. Heat a skillet over medium high heat. Add in the sausage and break it up. Add in the onions. Brown for about 5 minutes, until cooked through. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl add the hashbrowns, salt, pepper, garlic powder, sour cream, butter, cream of chicken soup and half of the cheese. Stir in the sausage. 
  4. Spray a 9×13 inch pan with non-stick cooking spray. Add the hashbrown mixture into the pan. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  5. Bake for 45-55 minutes, until hot and bubbly. 
  6. Serve and enjoy!
