Description

Sloppy joes with a twist! The sandwiches are made so easy with your Instant Pot or slow cooker. An easy and delicious dump and go recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 cup beef broth
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pound raw lean ground beef (I used 85/15)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 Tbsp minced dry onion
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp dry mustard
  • 3 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/3 cup Dorothy Lynch salad dressing
  • For serving: 4 buns, pickles and slices of cheddar or American cheese

Instructions

Instant Pot Instructions:

  1. Add beef broth and Worcestershire into Instant Pot. Add raw ground beef into Instant Pot and break it up. Dump in the garlic, onion, salt, garlic powder, dry mustard, tomato paste and salad dressing. Don’t stir.
  2. Cover Instant Pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set the manual/pressure cook button to 5 minutes. When time is up let pot sit for 5-10 minutes and then move valve to venting. Remove the lid. Use a spoon to break up meat and to stir well.
  3. Salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Toast buns. Serve a scoop of meat on top of each bun with a slice of cheese and pickles.

Slow Cooker Instructions:

  1. Add beef broth, Worcestershire, raw ground beef, garlic, onion, salt, garlic powder, dry mustard, tomato paste and salad dressing. Stir well and break up the meat.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours. Remove lid and stir to break up the meat.
  3. Salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Toast buns. Serve a scoop of meat on top of each bun with a slice of cheese and pickles.

Notes

This is an easy recipe to double or triple to feed a crowd. Adjust ingredients accordingly (except broth…keep broth at ¾ cup) and keep the same cooking time.
