Description

Seasoned ground beef with cabbage, potatoes and a creamy sauce. 


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef (I used 85/15)
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Half of a small head of cabbage, cored and chopped
  • 1 pound sliced red potatoes (slice about 1/4 inch thick)
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 2 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

Instant Pot Instructions:

  1. Turn Instant Pot to saute setting. When display says HOT add in the beef and break it up. Add in the onion. Brown for about 5 minutes. Stir in the garlic powder, salt and pepper. 
  2. Pour in the broth and scrape bottom of pot so that nothing is sticking. Turn off saute setting.
  3. Add in the cabbage, then potatoes and finally the cream cheese, tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce. Don’t stir.
  4. Cover Instant Pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set the manual/pressure cook button to 2 minutes. When time is up move the valve to venting and remove the lid.
  5. Stir well. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve and enjoy!

Slow Cooker Instructions:

  1. Heat a pan over medium high heat. Add in the beef and break it up. Add in the onion. Brown for about 5 minutes. Stir in the garlic powder, salt and pepper. Add the mixture to the slow cooker.
  2. Stir in the broth, cabbage, potatoes, cream cheese, tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce. 
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  4. Stir well. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve and enjoy!
