Hall of Fame Casserole–homemade meatballs with pasta, two types of cheese and roasted garlic sauce. An easy Instant Pot recipe.
Hall of Fame Casserole
Mmm! This dish is so delicious and satisfying that it deserves to be inducted into a culinary hall of fame! Skyler said this was “big yummy.” I don’t know what that means. But I’m pretty sure it’s a good thing. And I kept sneaking bites. Flavorful meatballs with bowtie pasta are covered in the most delicious pasta sauce and will definitely leave you wanting more.
I grabbed a jar of Mezzetta Roasted Garlic Sauce at the grocery store because it was on sale and it was definitely the key to this dish. The sauce tastes better than homemade and although it costs more than your Ragu or Prego it’s so much better. It’s thick and wonderful, I could eat it by the spoonful with no pasta. Watch for it on sale and buy at least 2 or 3 jars because it is GOOD!

Notes/Tips
- Serve with green salad with balsamic vinaigrette or a Caesar salad and garlic bread or Italian breadsticks.
- If you use another type of pasta you may need to adjust the cooking time. Here is the formula: look at the back of the box of pasta and see how many minutes it says to boil the pasta. If it’s 10 minutes you divide that number by 2 (=5) and then subtract 2 minutes. So you would pressure cook for 3 minutes.
- Try using a combination of ground beef and ground pork instead of all ground beef. Another choice is to use half beef and half Italian sausage.
- I used my 6 quart Instant Pot*. You can also make this in a 3 or 8 quart pot.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container* in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
- Other recipes you can make with mozzarella cheese are Chicken Georgia and Company Beef Casserole.

Angelina says
can the meatballs recipe be done in the oven and the sauce noodles be done on stove.
Karen says
yes. I would only add 1 cup of broth to the Instant Pot, then the meatballs, then the sauce.
Haynes says
The person above asked if this recipe could be done in the oven. Your reply was yes but you still said Instant Pot. Would you please explain.
Also, is it possible to cook everything together at once, noodles and all, in the oven or on the stove?
Thanks
