Instructions
Instant Pot Instructions:
- Season the beef stew meat with the 1 tsp salt, pepper, garlic powder, thyme, rosemary and smoked paprika.
- Heat Instant Pot (use the sauté setting) or a pan on the stove. Once hot add in the oil and swirl it around.
- Add in the beef (working in batches, as needed) and sear until browned on both sides. Set aside.
- Add onions into the pan and saute for 4 minutes. Add beef and onions into Instant Pot.
- Pour broth into Instant Pot and scrape bottom of pot so that nothing is sticking.
- Add in the garlic, butter and Worcestershire. Set the potatoes on top.
- Cover Instant Pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set manual/pressure cook button to 20 minutes. When time is up let pot sit for 10 minutes and then move valve to venting (or you can do a full natural pressure release).
- Move potatoes to a mixing bowl. Mash the potatoes and stir the milk and ½ tsp kosher salt into the potatoes.
