Description
Hawaiian style rolls piled with roast beef, caramelized onions and cheese. The onions are made as quick as can be in the Instant Pot.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 Tbsp butter, divided
- 1 large sweet onion (such as Vidalia), thinly sliced
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tbsp water
- 1 (12 oz) package King’s Hawaiian sweet dinner rolls
- 12 thin slices of deli roast beef
- 12 small slices of mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Turn Instant Pot to sauté setting. When display says HOT add in 1 Tbsp of butter and let it melt. Add in the onions, salt and baking soda. Toss until onions start to yellow and release a little moisture (only a couple minutes).
- Add in the Worcestershire and water. Cover Instant Pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set the manual/pressure cook button to 3 minutes. When time is up move valve to venting and remove lid.
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Place the rolls on a baking sheet. Cut the entire pack of rolls in half horizontally, keeping each half intact and connected. Place the bottom half of the rolls on a baking sheet. Top with the roast beef (1 slice per roll). Spread the onions in an even layer on top. Place a slice of cheese on each roll. Place the top layer of rolls over the cheese. Melt the remaining tablespoon of butter. Brush the top of the rolls with the melted butter. Sprinkle with the garlic powder.
- Cover the baking sheet with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Uncover and bake for 5 more minutes to brown tops of rolls.
- Serve and enjoy!
