Description

An easy Instant Pot pasta with a pizza flare. This dish has ground beef, pepperoni, bell pepper, zesty tomato sauce, tender cavatappi and a sprinkling of parmesan cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tsp italian seasoning
  • 2 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 8 ounces cavatappi pasta
  • 2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce
  • 2 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 3-4 ounces of pepperoni
  • 1 green bell pepper, cored and diced
  • Parmesan cheese, for topping

Instructions

  1. Turn Instant Pot to saute setting. When display says HOT add in the beef and break it up. Add in the onion and brown for 5 minutes. Drain off excess grease. Stir in the salt and Italian seasoning.
  2. Pour in the broth and scrape bottom of pot so that nothing is sticking. Turn off Instant Pot. 
  3. Sprinkle in the pasta. Dump tomato sauce and paste over the top of hte pasta. Add in the pepperoni and the bell pepper. Don’t stir.
  4. Cover Instant Pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set manual/pressure cook button to 4 minutes. When time is up let pot sit for 10 minutes and then move valve to venting. Remove the lid.
  5. Stir well. Serve each individual serving with a bit of parmesan cheese on top.
