Description

Easy slow cooker (or oven) chicken that is savory and sweet. It’s got apricot preserves, onion soup mix and chili sauce…it sounds strange but is actually really good. Don’t knock it until you try it!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/3 cup apricot preserves
  • 1 packet onion soup mix (1 ounce)
  • 1 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 3 Tbsp Heinz chili sauce (ketchup with a kick)
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 16-24 ounces of chicken tenderloins (frozen or fresh)

Instructions

Slow Cooker Instructions:

  1. Add apricot preserves, onion soup mix, mayo, chili sauce, worcestershire, paprika, mustard and pepper into slow cooker. Stir until well combined.
  2. Add in the chicken and stir to cover in the sauce.
  3. Cover and cook on high for 1 to 2 hours or on low for 2-3 hours.
  4. Serve with sauce spooned over the top and enjoy!

Oven Instructions:

  1. Heat oven to 350° F.
  2. Add apricot preserves, onion soup mix, mayo, chili sauce, worcestershire, paprika, mustard and pepper into a baking dish. Stir until well combined.
  3. Add in the chicken and stir to cover in the sauce.
  4. Bake for 18-25 minutes (shorter time is for fresh, longer time is for frozen), or until internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165° F.
  5. Serve with sauce spooned over the top and enjoy!
