Heavenly tasting roast beef with just a few minutes of prep and 5 ingredients.
Ingredients

- 3 pound chuck roast, trimmed of excess fat
- 1 cup water
- 1 (1 oz) package Hidden Valley Ranch salad dressing mix
- 1 (.87 oz) package brown gravy mix
- 1 (.70 oz) package Italian dressing mix
- 2 Tbsp cornstarch
Instructions
Instant Pot Instructions:
- Place roast and water into Instant Pot.
- In a bowls stir together the ranch mix, brown gravy mix and Italian dressing mix. Sprinkle it over the top of the roast.
- Cover Instant Pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set the manual/pressure cook button to 75 minutes. When time is up let pot sit for 15-20 minutes and then move valve to venting. Remove the lid.
- Place roast on a cutting board.
- Turn Instant Pot to saute setting. In a small bowl stir together the cornstarch and 3 tablespoons of water. Stir the slurry into the pot. Once gravy has thickened turn off Instant Pot.
- Slice or shred roast and serve with gravy.
Slow Cooker Instructions:
- Place roast and water into slow cooker.
- In a bowls stir together the ranch mix, brown gravy mix and Italian dressing mix. Sprinkle it over the top of the roast.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until roast is tender.
- Place roast on a cutting board.
- Turn slow cooker to high setting. In a small bowl stir together the cornstarch and 3 tablespoons of water. Stir the slurry into the slow cooker. Let gravy thicken for about 10 minutes.
- Slice or shred roast and serve with gravy.
Notes
You can also use a rump roast. Increase pressure cooking time to 90 minutes.
