Bora Bora Chicken

Today’s recipe is a super fast and easy dump and go slow cooker recipe for sesame teriyaki chicken. I like to use chicken tenderloins or boneless skinless chicken thighs for this recipe because they stay more moist and tender. This chicken tastes great served alongside some rice and broccoli. You can easily double this recipe to serve a crowd or to have leftovers for another dinner or lunch.

Recipe adapted from Bakespace.com.

Ingredients/Substitution Ideas

  • Chicken tenderloins–or boneless skinless chicken thighs that have been cut into 1 inch cubes
  • Sesame seeds
  • Black pepper
  • Sesame oil
  • Ground ginger
  • Garlic powder
  • Teriyaki sauce–I used Kinder’s brand

Steps

Add chicken into slow cooker.

Stir in the sesame seeds, pepper, sesame oil, ginger, garlic powder and the teriyaki sauce.

Cover slow cooker and cook on low for 2 hours. If you can, turn the chicken over halfway through.

Stir, serve and enjoy!

Notes/Tips

  • If you have time, marinate the chicken in the sauce for a few hours in the refrigerator before slow cooking the chicken. It will help get the flavors into the chicken.
  • Serve with rice and roasted broccoli.
  • This recipe can be gluten-free if you use gluten-free teriyaki sauce.
  • I used my 6 quart Ninja slow cooker. You can also make this in a 3 quart slow cooker.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container* in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
  • Another recipe you can make with teriyaki sauce is teriyaki chicken alfredo.

This was really good. I used chicken thighs and added some cut up fresh pineapple I had leftover in the fridge.
