Description

A creamy, cheesy broccoli and cauliflower side dish that you can make in the slow cooker or Instant Pot.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup finely diced onion
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 (12 oz) bag frozen broccoli
  • 1 (12 oz) bag frozen cauliflower
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

Slow Cooker Instructions:

  1. Heat a pan over medium high heat. Add in the butter and let it melt. Add in the onion and saute for 5 minutes. Turn heat to low. Stir in the cream, sour cream, pepper, salt and garlic powder. Transfer to the slow cooker.
  2. Fold in the broccoli and cauliflower. Coat it in the sauce.
  3. Cover slow cooker and cook on high for 1 hour. 
  4. Sprinkle cheese on top and serve. 

Instant Pot Instructions:

  1. Turn Instant Pot to saute setting (“normal”). When display says HOT add in the butter and let it melt. Add in the onion and saute for 5 minutes. Turn saute setting heat to “less”.  Stir in the cream, sour cream, pepper, salt and garlic powder. 
  2. Fold in the broccoli and cauliflower. Coat it in the sauce.
  3. Cover Instant Pot and cook on “more” slow cooker setting for 1 hour. 
  4. Sprinkle cheese on top and serve.
